Neighborhood Emergency Preparedness Program

Planning Timeline

Purpose

Theplanning timelineis used to develop a planning strategy for Start-up and Sustainment communities in the Neighborhood Emergency Preparedness Program (NEPP). This is completed early in the program and is used to help communities stay on track with completing required tasks in NEPP.

The planning timeline shouldbe a description of the overall planning approach for NEPP and should include specifics such as:

-Persons responsible for completing each task by the due date.

-The status of each responsibility (in progress, completed, in need of signature, etc)

-Whether NEPP communities will utilize implementation plans or expertise from groups such as the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) or the Division of Emergency Management in their county.

-Associated benefits, assumptions, and risks for having a planning timeline.

This sample planning timelinewas based on 2011-2012NEPP responsibilities/tasks. Review your current Memorandum of Agreement for appropriate “Tasks” and“Target/Due Date.” Each responsibility indicates the specific action that must take place:

  • Send via email to the State NEPP Coordinator
  • Keep on file at the County Health Department (CHD) in case of an audit
  • CHD NEPP Coordinator sends an e-mail to the State NEPP Coordinator confirming completion

Please note that this timeline may be tailored to meet the specific objectives of individual communities and/or may be altered to be specific to the county and community implementation plan. The Target/Due Date should correspond with your current Funding Agreement Deliverables.
