Scenario 1

Mrs Foreest is looking for a wedding gift for her daughter. After shopping around, she enter, a little tired and discouraged, into yet another gift store.

As soon as she walks in, Dan, a sales consultant greets her with a smile and a nod of the head. Mrs Forrest, walking slowly and nonchalantly, makes her ways through the aisles and around the various displays hoping to come across the perfect gift.

After having discreetly observed Mrs. Forrest’s non-verbal cues, Dan decides that’s it’s time to approach her.

Formulate two opening sentences that Dan could say to Mrs. Forrest, considering the AIDA approach:

Scenario 2

It’s Saturday morning, in May. Today, Benjamin is shopping with his mother for a suit for his graduation ball, next month. He is looking forward to the event, but, being naturally shy, he is not very comfortable trying on several pairs of pants, dress shirts, and neck ties with all the sales consultants on the floor.

After having been in two previous boutiques where they didn’t like the service, Ben and his mother enter a third boutique, where Stephen works. Ben walks a few steps behind his mother, earphone in his ears, with an air of slight annoyance. Stephen is getting ready to approach them.

Formulate two opening sentences that Stephen could say to Ben and/or his mother, considering the AIDA approach:

Scenario 3

A couple in their twenties enter into a clothing store for babies, hand in hand. The woman stokes her stomach. Her partner looks intently at all the blue pajamas and overalls.

While most other customers are walking through the aisles fairly quickly, this couple takes their time, looking at each other lovingly. Sandra, the sales clerk, approaches them.

Scenario 4

Emilie and her cousin, Elise, are enjoying the wonderful window display at Fragrances, a boutique offering personal care products. Many new products like bubble bath, lotions, hydrating gels and exfoliant scrubs are showcased in a Valentine’s Day window dressing.

Marty, who works at the boutique, notices the two adolescents poiting to the various products, smiling, and chatting happily. Then, then decide to enter.

Scenario 5

Mr. and Mrs. Jones, a couple in their sixties, are planning their first RV trip to Florida, this year. They have looked through many specialized magazines, discussed with many friends that already own RVs and used the internet to compare all the features and benefits of many different models.

They just entered the store at which Zach works. They come with an armful of printouts on several RV models and a copy of Consumer Reports magazine. Zach smiles at them and walks towards them.
