Responsibilities Summary

AState Manager – Central States is responsible for effectively representing Hood River Distillers by creating and introducing company brand programs and strategies to key on and off premise accounts in the Central/East Division

Communicate and organize regional chain authorizations, pricing and programs in conjunction with theDivision Manager.

A successful Manager exhibits above average skills in the development of multi-level distributor relationships anddrives sales results with exceptional sales techniques in the targeted accounts.

Sales Management

AState Manager – TX, NM, CO successfully plans and manages activities for multiple accounts to ensure achievement of targeted objectives. Success is measured in the following categories:

Selling Responsibilities

AState Manager – TX,NM,COassists business partners’ efforts delivering effective sales presentations and programs as required that support achievements of HRD sales objectives in targeted accounts. Success is measured in the following categories:

  • Knowing in depth the features and benefits of HRD products and programs, persuasively making comparisons to competition and the market environment as needed
  • Obtaining appropriate distribution and share of business within all on and off premisekey accounts
  • Developing positive customer relationships in the process of visiting targeted accounts
  • Presenting the entire portfolio and current programs to generate maximum dollar and case sales volume
  • Maintain active involvement in local trade events
  • Adhering to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing the sale of alcoholic beverage products in accounts

Distributor and Broker Management

AState Manager – TX,NM,CO is expected to assist the Division Managerachieve the maximum efforts and results of HRD brands by our business partners, managing influential relationships at execution levels withindistributor structures. Success can be measured in the following categories:

  • Consumer competitive pricing
  • Structured to provide targeted margin to HRD
  • Distributor Knowledge
  • Educating business partners on HRD history, product quality, programs, standards and market objectives

  • Conduct planning and review meetings with distributor managers

Communication Responsibilities

AState Manager – TX, NM, COserves as an information resource for HRD and as a conduit with our business partners and Division Manager. Success can be measured in the following categories:

  • Providing HRD management with specific, current information on market conditions
  • Formulating recommendations for all business needs that will grow representation and results at the account level
  • Submitting required reports promptly and accurately as directed by management and maintaining up to date market records as specified by management
  • Maintaining adequate, well-organized inventories of sales tools and merchandising materials.
  • Following HRD policies and procedures

Marketing Events and Promotion Responsibilities

A State Manager – TX,NM,COis expected to lead and execute promotion objectives during marketing sponsored functions within the areas of responsibility.

  • Act as the liaison between the promotions team and the field in terms of executing brand positioning and performance at events and consumer venues (trade shows, tastings)
  • Assist in the communication process for all parties (Division Manager, Marketing Team, Distributor) to ensure promotion success and targeted results.
  • Other events and activities as directed by Division Manager

Fiscal Responsibilities

  • Budgets will be provided for T&E and promotions. You are expected to manage the resources in accordance with the Hood River Fiscal Policies and legal regulations.
  • Exceeding the budgets without approval is notpermissible

Qualification

Education and Experience

College degree preferred – Bachelor degree or minimum of 5 years industry experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Technology

Productive and skillful computer knowledge is beneficial.

  • Understanding and ability to work with all Microsoft Office programs
  • Utilize information provided by business partners
  • Ability to access and maximize use of HRD systems (Diver)
  • Desire to expand skill set

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

Travel

Expected to be up to 50% of managed time; dependent upon budget. Weekend travel is required.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, margins, mark-ups and percentages to apply concepts to practical applications.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Work Environment

The work environment will vary for each promotional event. The work environment can include indoor and outdoor events, varying weather conditions, public crowds, access to VIP, talent staging and non-public venues.State Managers will travel to a variety of cities and events and will work both late nights andweekends. Working directly with the public, sales personnel will encounter crowded environments (both indoor and outdoor) and will be required to stand and/or walk for long periods of time. State Mangers will likely be exposed to cigarette smoke, loud music, boisterous crowds, and people who have consumed varying amounts of alcohol.

Licensing

This position requires a valid driver’s license to be maintained. HRD will review and monitor violations as required to ensure a safe and productive working environment. All state required permits as needed.
