Sales Director- US Key Accounts- Datamonitor Healthcare

Datamonitor Healthcare, part of the Informa group currently has an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Sales Director to manage the US based Key Accounts team for this market leading business. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a driven team of Key Accounts Managers/Directors, in addition to managing your own portfolio, driving subscriptions revenue for this established industry publication.

Reporting into the Director of Global Key Accounts for Informa Pharma, the successful Sales Director will be responsible for growing Datamonitor Healthcare’s revenue and client base in the US through driving and managing a successful Key Accounts team as well as managing their own portfolio of growing accounts. We are seeking a confident, driven and business focused Sales Director with proven experience in building and managing successful Key Accounts teams and ideally comes from a business-intelligence or subscription based sales background in the healthcare arena.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Lead, hire, training, motivate and supervise a team of US-based Account Directors/Managers
  • Run and own specific sales opportunities or accounts, sourcing new clients and building new relationships, maintaining existing client relationships, achieving and exceeding sales goals, and implementing creative sales strategies.
  • Support the team in achieving and exceeding challenging revenue targets and sales objectives
  • Develop individual members of the team through coaching and mentoring
  • Increase the growth potential in existing accounts and acquiring new clients in a competitive sales environment
  • Be a commercial figurehead for the Datamonitor Healthcare business in the US
  • Lead a number of projects and initiatives, focusing on increasing the efficiency and productivity of the Sales team
  • Present and negotiate up to Board level in any organization

Key skills and competencies required for the role:

  • Practical and proven experience in New Business selling and Account Management, ideally within the Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology markets
  • Demonstrable Sales Management experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of the issues and developments within the Healthcare and overall Pharmaceutical industry
  • Enthusiastic, competitive, results-driven and solutions-orientated individual with a strong work ethic and integrity
  • Superior organizational, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop long-term customer relationships with senior-level managers
  • Proven experience in million dollar deal management and closing
