Member of the Year
Since 1987, ICSOFE has honored a member each membership year with an achievement award, recognizing the member’s contribution to the Society for that year. General members nominate potential recipients each year. The final decision is made by the Board of Directors, who bases their vote by the reasons given for the individual’s nomination.

** Reasons given for recent nominees that became recipients of this honor are:
Carmelo Blancaflor (2005-06) - His dedication to publishing the ICSOFE newsletter over the past few years.
John Meikle (2006-07) - His contribution to the development of the ICSOFE website and his continuation as webmaster for it.
Cindy Andersen & Casey Shaw (2007-08) – Cindy and Casey tied this year.
Cindy was honored for her countless dedication to ICSOFE, managing the finances for ICSOFE year after year. She was also honored for her dedication to the Illinois Division of Insurance and her most difficult job in the examination section as an Assistant Chief Examiner. Her work duty was significantly increased this past year as a result of unavoidable absences by fellow management. Cindy was able to take on the increased work load while performing her normal duties.
Casey is honored for his hard work and dependability / reliability. Casey is there when needed - a “go to” person. When something needs work, he will do it. Consistently he is there for what needs attention.
Ginny Godek (2008-09) - Ginny by herself manages the education function of ICSOFE, which is the primary function of ICSOFE, and has done so for many years. This includes registering AFE & CFE members for the tests, administering the tests on test day and tracking the results. Ginny also registers members for other courses and seminars.Also, she always keeps examiners up to date with new/updated vouchers, testing information and any important information she thinks we need to know. This is very helpful for examiners in the field (on travel status). Ever time she is asked a question regarding anything she always goes out of her way to help and get the information needed.
Matt Hoerchler (2009-10) - Congratulations to Matt Hoerchler who was voted the 2010 ICSOFE Member of the Year! Nominations were taken at the Fall Seminar in October and voted on by the 2009-2010 outgoing Board members at their last meeting on November 8.
Matt was nominated for his efforts with the ICSOFE website and for picking up the slack after John Meikle’s departure. He was also recognized for his dedication to duties, willingness to go “above and beyond” and for being the consummate team player.
