SENIOR COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING OFFICER:SOCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY

SALARY PACKAGE: R 309414, 00 (TOTAL COST TO COMPANY)

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications and Experience

Matric plus a three year B. Degree / Diploma in studies relating to Journalism or Communication field

Three (3) years relevant work experience within media/journalism or communication field

Writing for a print media experience will be an added advantage

Competencies and skills:

  • Good verbal and writing skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Advanced Computer skills
  • Photography and videography skills
  • High level of flexibility
  • Ability to work under pressure and beyond normal working hours

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the development and implementation of Social Accountability awareness and education programme
  • Coordinate and facilitate events including awareness, education and communication activities
  • Provide strategic interventions, support and establish partnerships with stakeholders to facilitate the attainment of the ECLB mandate
  • Create enabling mechanisms for community participation in the realization of the ECLB strategic objectives
  • Develop, implement and manage an effective media liaison service and promote good relations with the media
  • Write media release, statement, invite and alerts
  • Maintain and update media database
  • Assist with preparations of media briefings
  • monitor public attitudes in order to plan and execute actions to project a positive image of the Eastern Cape Liquor Board
  • Draft media plans for all accountability education and awareness programmes
  • Monitor daily media and advice on reactive media opportunities
  • Develop, implement and evaluate ECLB’s social media strategy in consultation with the Manager
  • Manage and ensure compliance with ECLB’s Corporate Identity Manual
  • Write and project manage ECLB publications, including online media platforms
  • Ensure effective implementation of ECLB internal communication plan
  • Source and manage content for the ECLB website and other online platforms
  • Monitor effective implementation of the Social Accountability policies
  • Provide strategic support to the Manager of administrative issues, including monitoring of Division’s budget, procurement of goods and services, support in the preparation of reports and general administration of the Division
