Ski/Snowboarding Trip
Easter Holiday: 30th March – 07th April 2018
Dear Parent/Guardian,
I’m pleased to be able to tell you about St Paul’s Ski Trip for 2018! We will be travelling to Austria during the first week of the Easter holidays 2018.
Our school has chosen to travel with Equity because they are market leaders in providing successful school ski tours to a choice of resorts across Europe and North America. They are completely financially protected by ABTA and ATOL, meaning in the event of any unlikely unexpected occurrence your money is protected. Equity are also accredited by ‘Learning Outside the Classroom’ and the School Travel Forum; both of which support excellence in the planning and delivery of highly successful school ski trips.
The cost of the ski trip is £799 and can be paid either in installments or with one payment by June 23rd. This price includes coach travel to the resort, full board accommodation, lift passes and ski equipment hire including helmets. The tour will offer participants 4 hours of ski tuition per day with fully qualified staff and will include a variety of evening entertainments. We will be staying in Jugendgaestehaus Edthof Hotel, Eben im Pongau, Austria from 30th March 2018 to 07th April 2018.
This is a fantastic opportunity for your child to engage with their classmates in an unfamiliar setting, discover new places and ideas and most importantly further develop their own skiing skills.
Summary:
The cost of the week is estimated to be £799 - the final price will be dependent upon the size of the party but should not vary significantly.
This cost covers the following:
· Six night’s accommodation in traditional family run Jugendgaestehaus Edthof Hotel, Eben im Pongau, Austria.
· Full Continental Breakfast
· Packed Lunch
· Three course evening meal on six nights and a hot meal or packed meal before departure.
· Six days hire of boots, skis, poles and helmet.
· Six day Amadé region lift pass.
· Six days of 4 hours ski instruction. All instructors are English speaking and hold Austrian ski school qualifications.
· Medals, certificates and trophies awarded at the end of the week.
· Evening activities
· Coach travel to and from school and use of the coach in the resort.
· Personal medical/accident insurance from Equity’s insurance provider
It does not cover:
· Meals in transit between UK and Austria.
· Personal belongings insurance.
· Spending money
Insurance:
The school has full liability and travel insurance policies in place, and copies are available on the school website:
The policies are not designated to cover loss or damage to students’ personal effects (e.g. loss of mobile phone, music player, camera, etc.) and cover for cancellation is primarily linked to certified medical reasons, FCO travel advice, etc. These restrictions are no different to a policy a parent/carer/student might take out for themselves.
In all cases where an excess deduction is in place on the school’s insurance policies this may be applied, in full or part to a claim repayment.
All students are required to have a valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). These are available online, at no charge at:

Deposit:
This is required by Friday 23rd June 2017 to secure a place on this trip.
Payments need to be made on the new schools ParentPay system. Please see the attached letter for instructions on how to do this.
Once we have received your deposit we will proceed to book your child’s place with the ski company, Equity.
· This means that the financial commitment to complete full payment against the notified timetable below rests with you.
· Cancellation by you, other than for certificated medical reasons, will still require you to make all payments in full.
Payments:
There will be the following payment schedule:
1. Deposit paid by 23rd June 2017 - £75
2. Interim payment by 14th July 2017 - £75
3. Interim payment by 13th October 2017 - £300
4. Final payment by 14th December 2017 - £349
Reply Slip:
In addition to the deposit payment we do need to start compiling certain information and would ask that you complete the reply slip and return this to the Finance Office by Friday 23rd June 2017. This will ensure both parents/guardians and students receive communication on this trip throughout the year ahead.
I will be holding a meeting once the final selection of pupils has been made to provide more detailed information and give you an opportunity to ask any questions. It is compulsory that all parents attend this meeting with their child.
