Special Notes:

In order to be selected to the team, each athlete MUST be a full

competitive member of Athletics New Brunswick/ Athletics Canada

before the START of the Selection Meet.

Housing:There is no housing available at Camp Gagetown this Summer, but UNB residence has been contacted and a block of rooms have been blocked for you to use. You can call at 506.453.4800 and refer to the "Canada Games Trials Competition" block. Payment is due upon arrival. Rates are:

Single rooms (one single bed) - $32+HST/person/night

Double rooms (two single beds) - $$24+HST/person/night

Appeal Committee:An appeal committee for the Jeux du Canada Games Trials and Invitational has been established and is being chaired by Leroy Washburn

Anti-Doping Session: This session is mandatory for all Canada Games participants (athletes selected). It will be offered for those who have not attended one yet at the Base Gym on Saturday, June 27th, at 7PM. Participants to the anti-doping session and others athletes are encouraged to attend supper (at your own expenses) at the Base cafeteria starting at 5:30PM.

2009 CSG SELECTION ORDER (See complete selection criteria at or

1) Athletes who have achieved the A+ standard during the 2008 outdoor season and have achieved the fitness, A, standard during the 2009 outdoor season prior to the Trials meet.. These athletes must participate at the trials meet or be excused. Only one athlete per event, one male & one female will be accepted within this section of the criteria.

2) Athletes who achieve A standard & finish first or second at the selection meet.

3) Athletes who achieve A standard during the 2009 outdoor season.

4) Athletes who achieve the B standard at the selection meet.

5) Athletes who achieve the B standard during the 2009 outdoor season.

6) Athletes who have achieved the minimum standard during the 2009 outdoor season including the selection meet. At this point, besides the performance, the staff will also consider athletes who can double or add to a relay pool. The minimum will be the average of the last four competitors, in each event, for the last three Games.

7) There may also be one or two selections made at the discretion of the staff beyond the criterialisted above. Other factors that apply in this section include such aspects as attitude, coachability,commitment, dedication, behaviour, leadership, sportsmanship, and past behaviour at majorcompetitions.

8) Selecting the athlete who has the smallest percentage of the A will break any ties standard.
