Elektra recording group Saint Motel will celebrate the arrival of their full length album “saintmotelevision” with a special, release day performance of lead single “Move” on NBC’s “Today” on October 21st. The band’s recent performance on CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” can be viewed here. “saintmotelevision” is currently available for pre-order at all DSPs and the band’s own saintmotel.com (see attached track listing), with all pre-orders accompanied by instant grat downloadsof “Move” and album track “You Can Be You.”
The October 21st arrival of “saintmotelevision”also coincides with the NYC stop of the band’s North American headlining tour at the famed Webster Hall. The extensive trek - featuring varying support from such artists as JR JR, Hippo Campus, and Weathers – has already sold out multiple dates, including a raucous, hometown show at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles. The tour continues until late October and includes stops at the Austin City Limits Music Festival in Austin, TX, and the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience in New Orleans, LA (see attached tour itinerary). “saintmotelevision” was recorded earlier this year in Los Angeles with production from the likes of Lars Stalfors (Cold War Kids) and Tim Pagnotta (Walk The Moon) among others as well as Saint Motel’s own A/J Jackson. The album’s infectious, lead single “Move” has entered the Top 25 at Alternative - after already going top 5 on Sirius/XM’s Alt Nation- and Top 15 at Triple A. The song is joined by a remarkable “virtualizer” created by the band to go far beyond the standard companion visualizer or lyric video. Bycombining 360° animation and virtual reality technology, the “Move” virtualizer offers fans an interactive and immersive experience on either conventional mobile devices or VR goggles. “Move” is viewable now via Saint Motel’s official YouTube channel,
“saintmotelevision” follows Saint Motel’s 2014 label debut EP, “MY TYPE,” highlighted by such singles as “Cold Cold Man” and the breakthrough hit title track. “My Type” – which is also featured on Atlantic Records’ “PAPER TOWNS – MUSIC FROM THE MOTION PICTURE” – proved a top 5 AAA and top 10 Alternative radio smash here in the US. The song has garnered over 51 million streams on Spotify and was a top 40 favorite in such European countries as Germany, Switzerland, and Italy, where it received platinum sales certification. In addition, the “My Type” companion video – directed by Saint Motel frontman A/J Jackson – has drawn more than 13.8million views at the band’s official YouTube channel,
Saint Motel came together when A/J Jackson met fellow Southern California film student Aaron Sharp, and together launched a new musical project. Bangkok-born bassist Dak Lerdamornpongand drummer Greg Erwin completed the group, which immediately attracted attention for their striking visual presentations and dynamic indie rock.
“VOYEUR,” Saint Motel’s independently released 2012 debut album, earned national acclaim and massive play on Alternative blogs and specialty radio. Further applause came from the band’s increasingly inventive live performances, including such audio/visual extravaganzas as “The Kaleidoscopic Mind Explosion in 3D” and the annual Zombie Prom, as well as tours alongside Arctic Monkeys, Imagine Dragons, Band of Skulls, and Weezer.
Saint Motel has spent much of the past year in the studio and on the road, including high-energy sets at festivals including Indio, CA’s Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, Dover, DE’s Firefly Music Festival, George, WA’s Sasquatch! Music Festival, and Manchester, TN’s Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. The band has also made an array of major network TV appearances including NBC’s TODAY, CBS’ The Late Late Show with James Corden, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and TBS’ CONAN.
In addition, Saint Motel have also become beloved international pop superstars via multiple European tours, high profile features in GQ Italia, Cosmopolitan Italia, Italian Vogue and Rolling Stone, being playlisted on BBC1 in the UK, and live appearances on X Factor (Italy) and the nationally televised 65th annual Sanremo Music Festival.
