Saint Anselm All Star
Danny Clifton
How inspiring and uplifting it is to see a young person with a friendly personality, whose character reflects a moral strength and discipline, and who cherishes and puts his Catholic Christian faith into action. This is what can be seen in Danny Clifton.
Danny graduated from Saint Anselm School in 2007 and from ArchbishopRyanHigh School in 2011. He recently began his college studies at ArcadiaUniversity where his major is journalism.
Throughout his years in Saint Anselm School and even during his years at Archbishop Ryan, Danny was involved and active in our Parish.
Danny, with the help of Mrs. D’Alessandro, started the drive (that continues to this day) to collect tabs from soda cans for the Ronald McDonald House. The soda tabs are collected for the Ronald Mc Donald House which helps families remain together while a child is being treated for an illness at Children's Hospital.
Danny was instrumental in bringing the mural to fruition that graces our History Room as well as the Grant that funded it.
Danny is among those we list as a dedicated, faithful altar server. He also took seriously his responsibility as the Dunks Ferry Road school safety during which time he got to know more people and their names than Father Dunleavy ever could! Danny’s presence at different functions sponsored by the Ladies of Saint Anselm, e.g. the Christmas Bazaar, Bingos and other parish activities like the Carnival and Oktoberfest testify to the spirit of willing service that has come to life in him. His remarkably pleasant attitude, involvement, and presence has accomplished much good. He has given hope and encouragement to all our Veteran Volunteers who see in him a young person who will one day fill their shoes.
Danny is a third generation member of Saint Anselm Parish (Dan’s grandparents, Jeanette and Charles Clifton moved here n the early 1960’s and his mother Janine attended St. Anselm School). How wonderful it is to see the faith pass from one generation to another.
Danny credits the encouragement of all of his teachers and Mrs. Murphy in helping him gain the confidence to try things he would not have ordinarily done.
He is grateful to Father Dunleavy and Father David who were always there to listen and advise when needed.
His experience of community here makes him feel very much a part of Saint Anselm Parish. Throughout our 50 year history, God has blessed us with many youth, like Danny, for which we are grateful.
