FROM PASTOR: Forgiveness is freely given to all, even when we judge or believe another is unworthy or sinful. When we really understand the meaning of the forgiveness of sins, it changes us. We alter our attitudes and realize that every person has the opportunity to experience renewal and a change of heart. We can be drawn into a greater union with God when we are able to embrace this all-encompassing divine love.
Priest’s Retreat: Father Sixtus and other priests from this area will be in Wichita this week at the SLC for retreat from June 17 to June 22. Second Fortnight for Freedom from June 21 to July 4.
“As Catholics we are constantly called to live our faith in our daily lives. In our charities, we comfort the sick, feed the hungry, care for the poor, and protect life. In the marketplace, our values guide us. We strive everywhere to practice what we preach.
Across America, our right to live out our faith is being threatened and around the world, Catholics face persecution and even death for their witness.
These rights are fundamental. They belong to each and every human being. We cannot let them be trampled. We cannot remain silent.” Archbishop William Lori.
Novena Prayer on other side. / Gospel Reflection: “The woman’s action was motivated by one thing, her love for Jesus and her gratitude for forgiveness. The woman took the most precious thing she had and spent it all on Jesus. She served the one who had showed her the mercy and kindness of God. If we come to Him in true sorrow and repentance we will hear his words of forgiveness. Let us devote our lives to serving Him with great love. The pardoned sinner should show gratitude to God by making a firm resolution to avoid offending God anymore.”
Reflection: “Do we really mean it when we say “never more to offend you and to amend my life”?
Blessed and Happy Father’s Day to all Fathers who have given of their time and talent to being good Fathers to their children. Remember to thank your Heavenly Father.

Stewardship: Recognizing and Receiving God’s Gifts
“The gifts of God come in many forms, some of them easier to recognize than others. Jesus exhibited the love and mercy of the Father when He forgave the sins of those who sought healing from Him. Our faith in God must be strong enough to allow us to seek forgiveness for our sins and accept it as well. Only when we feel the embrace of our Lord through the pardon of our sins can we begin to share that love and mercy with others. As we steward the gift of forgiveness, we strengthen our faith in God and turn our footsteps toward the kingdom. May God give us grace to confess our faults and work diligently to purge them from our lives.”
Word of Life
“All men, by their inherent paternal nature, are called to be fathers in a certain sense, if not in the flesh, then in the spirit by a pure and fruitful love that helps in the formation and growth of others as children of God. As with women, men find their dignity not in occupational pursuits, much less in the acquisition and exercise of power, but by virtue of loving relationship with others.” Cardinal Donald Wuerl

Novena Prayer for Protection of Religious Freedom from June 21 to July 4. Clip and Save
Almighty God, Father of all nations, we praise and bless you for the gift of religious liberty, the foundation of human rights, justice and the common good. Grant to our leaders the wisdom to protect and promote our liberties; by your grace may we have the courage to defend them for ourselves and for all those who live in this blessed land. We ask this through the intercession of Mary Immaculate our patroness, and in the name of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, with whom you live and reign, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. USCCB
