RWF March 2014 Seminar Report (website version)


On Saturday, 1st of March 2014, The Real Woman Foundation held its first seminar for the year; with the theme “EXTRAVAGANT LOVE” at the Annex 1 Hall, Daystar Christian Center, Plot A3C Ikosi Road, beside Gtbank, Oregun, Lagos.

Pastor Nike Adeyemi’s talk was in line with the theme “Extravagant Love.” She based her teaching on Mark chapter 14 from verse 3 to 9 and spoke extensively about love; love for God, love for one self, love for spouse, love for children, and love for others. She encouraged women to be filled with love as that is the main weapon they can use to conquer all oppositions, segregation, oppression, violence and hatred against them. She emphasized that LOVE conquers all.

ATTENDANCE

The total attendance was eight hundred and fourty three (843); of which four hundred (400) were first timers while the remaining four hundred and fourty-three (443) people have attended the Real Woman seminar at one time or the other. There were also had ten (10) counselees.

On Saturday, 6th of December 2014, the Real Woman Foundation held its last seminar for the year 2014 with the theme, ‘LOVE & COMPASSION’ at Daystar Christian Center (Annex 1), Plot A3C Ikosi Road, Oregun Lagos.

Pastor Nike's talk was in line with the theme, ‘LOVE &COMPASSION.’ She based her teaching on the Samaritan woman in John 4, verses 13-26 and spoke extensively about the need for women to accept the love of Christ and to share it with others. Reading Luke 10 verses 30 to 37, she elaborated on the need to demonstrate compassion by extending love to others with a readiness to help.

Attendees were encouraged and challenged to pursue Love by, being ‘Christ-like’, setting love goals; working towards overcoming temptations; praying and practicing forgiveness. She emphasized that when women begin to perform their duties towards others, their lives will become beautiful and fulfilled.

ATTENDANCE

The total attendance was eight hundred and thirty five (835); out of which one hundred and two (102) were first timers and the remaining seven hundred and thirty three (733) people had attended the Real Woman seminar at one time or the other. There were also four (4) new converts at the program and two (2) counselees.
