Job Title: Human Resources Administrator

Department: 900- Finance and Administration

Reports to: Human Resources Manager

Pay Scale: $12.00-$18.00/hr. (Commensurate with experience)

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-4pm

Basic Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or related field and a minimum of 3-5 years Human Resources Administrative or Generalist experience.
  • Preferred candidate will have obtained their PHR certification.
  • Candidate must be detail oriented, highly organized, an effective communicator (both verbal and written) and be able to successfully multi-task diverse priorities.
  • Candidate must have a high level of integrity, be reliable and deadline oriented.
  • Candidate must be able to creatively apply HR background to continuous improvement projects. Candidate must adapt well to change and be able to keep information highly confidential.

Scope:

  • Accurate and timely payroll processing, new hire benefits administration, new hire orientation/on boarding paperwork
  • Contributes to the recruitment and development of staff in a timely manner
  • Provides HR support for employees and assists the Human Resource Manager as directed.

Responsibilities:

Staffing

  • Assists with job postings, ad preparation and other recruitment activities as requested. Networks with area staffing companies for manufacturing openings.
  • Assists in reviewing active applications and calls in qualified applicants for open positions. Participates in applicant interview process for Open Interviews and makes recommendations for most qualified candidates to fill open positions.
  • Conducts applicant reference checks as requested.
  • Administers internal pre-employment hair follicle drug screenings. Coordinates hearing test appointments for OSHA readings for new hires.
  • Processes new hire paperwork for review/approval.
  • Prepares new employee orientation packets, assists with completion of new employee paperwork, ensuring that all documents are completed accurately and completely.
  • Sets employees up in the time & attendance system and provides them with an Employee ID Access Badge. Sets up employees in Syteline, Unum, Ascensus and Ready Pay.

Employee Communication

  • Assists employee relations activities while keeping HR Manager updated on a regular basis.
  • Maintain employees pictures for online photo board
  • Assists HR Manager in developing and posting employee Path to Grow and Organizational Announcements.
  • Assists HR Manager with companywide communications at Monthly Safety Meetings
  • Participates with HR Manager with Benefits portion of Quarterly New Hire Orientation

Payroll

  • Edits timecards for Sales Departments
  • Maintain payroll system and process bi-weekly payroll
  • Prepare Payroll G/L journal entries
  • Prepares bi-weekly Payroll Report for HR Manager.
  • Prepares Monthly Payroll Analysis Report

Benefits

  • Maintain Ascensus 401(K) data for new enrollees and changes.
  • Administers new hire benefits administration for employees that successfully completed their probationary period of employment.
  • Maintains Health Insurance List in Excel format

Daily personnel functions:

  • Process daily payroll information- withholding deductions, direct reports, shift changes, rate changes, etc.
  • Process new employee information and records

Training:

  • Obtain WEDnet Funding
  • Coordinate with operations to schedule employee trainings
  • Track completed training in Syteline

Weekly personnel functions:

  • Process payroll, print and distribute payroll checks

Monthly personnel functions:

  • Award wellness time

Other Responsibilities:

Recordkeeping

  • Maintains training classes in Syteline
  • Calculates operations performance bonus for payroll department

Accounting Duties

  • Enters G/L journal entries as required
  • Conduct Health Insurance Premium Bill Audit
  • Operations incentive pay quarterly average calculation
  • Assist outside auditors as required
  • Performs other duties as required

Backup Duties

  • Perform Human Resources Manager backup duties as directed.
