  • Welcoming Christa: Christa will be covering Jenny’s maternity leave.
  • Suggestions from residents: coffee (Second Cup) outing • horse show, Super Dogs during Stampede • continue with casino outings • Currently 4 - 6 outings/month
  • Changes with some programming in the upcoming months - - to be able to accommodate the new ideas; example: looking into changing days Bingo is offered
  • “New” programs that were added to the March calendar
  • Saturday April 05th - - Italian Dancers at 2:00pm in Canadiana Dining Room

  • Holidays: No Stat Holidays in March – Easter Monday is April 21st(St. Patrick’s Day was March 17th)
  • Maintenance Updates: • Westview Sunroom furniture was finally delivered on March 19th! There are couches and chairs and tables for residents and families. There is also a TV set up in the Sunroom. • SHAW has signed a 3 year contract with us to provide GO WIFI internet in common areas throughout the facility: dining, lounges, etc. Install date planned for mid-April•4-legged chair has been added to Public Use computer.Staff and resident families often borrow/move chairs. If you find yourself in need of a chair, please don’t hesitate to move one from another hallway. •Maintenance has put in a request with Concept that the timer on the fire doors near main foyer needs to be extended. •The Conference Room acoustic panels have been ordered and installation is expected to happen late April/early May.
  • Clinical:Accommodation Audit was yesterday March 19. Alberta Health monitors accommodations for compliance with Long Term Care standards. Brentwood received 100%! • Reminder: St. Andrews and HillHurst (1st & 2nd floor) will be mixed residents. Waitlists for private rooms will be combined. First two floors designated for cognitively-intact to mild-impairment. Residents with behaviours will continue to reside on Sunnyside (3rd floor.) Morrison Unit is a secure floor (4th floor.)
  • Dietary/Residential: Food satisfaction surveywere handed out to residents at the last resident family council meeting. Keira also hand delivered surveys to residents on their units. Over 30 surveys have been returned.• Looking into changing larger meal of the day from lunch to dinner. Will commence by the Spring/Summer cycle •Reminder that residents can ask for the alternate and/or sandwiches if they do not like what is served for meals. •Dining Room Meal Boards – are no longer being updated by hand. Pre-printed menus are posted, thus ensuring that each board is updated regularly
  • Nursing & Residential: staff & residents reminded to use the grab bars in their washrooms to hang towels that do not require laundering. Brentwood has ordered 2nd towel rings for semi-private rooms.
  • Income Taxes: Residents with no friends/family able to assist can have their income taxes filed by the volunteer at Brentwood. Must provide 2013 t-slips, marital status and proper authorization/consent signatures to Maria in Social Work (403-289-2576 ext 204 or )
  • Occupational/Physio:Rehab groups have begun in the new rehab room! Those who are assessed to benefit from extra rehab, usually done as individual or pairs. Rehab aide and/or physiotherapist (Rob) supervise work outs.• Positive feedback from HH re: Steph & Courtney’s work with the residents!
/ •Recreation also looking into creating a “library” area in the WV Sunroom.

•It is very important to file your income taxes on time! If you do not, you risk the chance of having your benefits discontinued.
