The Vice Chairman opened the meeting and welcomed members and visitors. Members stood for the shipmate’s prayer, a period of silence was observed for those who had fallen since our last meeting.

The Vice Chairman asked if everyone had read the minutes and that they be accepted. This was proposed by Terry Watson and was seconded by Gillian Burden. There were no matters arising no comments on the minutes, they were unanimously accepted.

Vice Chairman’s Report: Due to the summer exodus no official menu del dia has been arranged for this month, but if interested some of us are going to Maritaas Asian Restaurant. This is at Quesada golf course on August 18th at 1300. All are welcome to join us it will be order on day and pay for whatever you have , if you would like to come please let me know so that I can book tables. Trafalgar night tickets are now on sale, as it is a carvery all I need is your starter and dessert, also your preference of whom you would like to be seated with. This is a maximum of 8 per table. All money to be paid by October meeting.

The Christmas party will be held here on DEC 7th after the meeting, due to various reasons this was the only date available, more information on this when we get it finalised, it will be free if you come to Trafalgar night, stay and drink have some food in a friendly atmosphere.

Secretary’s Report: I have two copies of the HOMEWORK magazine please feel to have one to read at stand easy or to take away. I also have an envelope with details of the R B L lottery appeal, again if interested help yourself. Further to Danny’s email

Reference taking part in helping with spoken English sessions for anyone who didn’t see it or doesn’t have access to a computer I have a paper copy here . Thank you Margaret Hon Sec.

Treasure’s Report: John gave a full account of our finances, the general fund, charity fund and our shipmate’s fun fund. Armistice day will be as usual with the R B L at La Siesta church. After the service and wreathe laying a buffet will be laid on FREE to R N A members, after a discussion and a vote taken it was decided once more to have this at Hoggies. John has undertaken to see to this.

P R O Report: Rose thanked Ian and Carol Rowlands for the menu del dia we all enjoyed at La Cochecha restaurante, Rose had also sent photographs to the local papers and was writing to the Focus magazine.

Welfare Report: Alex McCallum is still in the nursing home and has had visits from some members which he and Elizabeth appreciate. I speak weekly with Jean Turrall ref Bill. Bill is sleeping much of the time and at present there is nothing we can do to assist.

Any Other Business: Danny informed members the Chairman had been unable to attend the meeting as due to his car being vandalised he had no transport. Dick Conway said he had a senior moment last month he is 74 not 73. Dick will be doing his parachute jump over the 11th 13th November in Albacete. He will be doing this with a friend who is ex army. He has his sponsor sheet which is still open. The proceeds he wanted to remind us

will be going to the Alzheimer support and Cancer research, this jump will be to let local associations know the RN an RM support them.

The meeting was closed at 1740 the next one being here on September 7th at 1700
