BEVERLY ROTARY CLUB FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS

The Beverly Rotary Club Foundation will be awarding to deserving

Beverly residents scholarshipstotaling approximately $25,000,

with individual awards ranging in size from $1,000 up to as much as $10,000. To be considered, applications must be emailed or postmarked no later than

April 8, 2017.

The scholarships are given to assist local students in meeting the expenses associated with furthering their education. Scholarships are available to graduating high school seniorsand preparatory school studentswho will be enrolling as full-time students in a four-year or two-year degree granting program. The following criteria will be applied in selecting scholarship awardees:

  1. Scholarships will be awarded to students whose parent(s) or legal guardian(s) reside in Beverly, Massachusetts.
  2. Academic achievement will be an important consideration in the evaluation of candidates.
  3. The financial needs of each student will be reviewed and will be an important consideration in the choice of scholarship recipients. Therefore, all applicants are required to submit a complete copy of the Student Aid Report (SAR) portion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The information to be consideredwill include gross family income, debt, equity, etc. Extenuating financial considerations or hardships should be explained.
  4. The experience of the student in extra-curricular activities and in providing community servicewill also be an important consideration.
  5. Children of Rotarians are not eligible to receive awards.
  6. Finalists for an award will be interviewed by members of the Scholarship Committee of the Beverly Rotary Club. The interview is an essentialpart of the decision-making process.
