GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS FOR GLYPHOSATE APPLICATION

Timing of Applications

Applications can be made 8 weeks after emergence on established seed crops and lawns after growth resumes in the fall until onset of dormancy and in the spring after dormancy break until 60 days prior to harvest. Applications may be made when the grass crop is dormant and there are no freezing temperatures. Best results are obtained when using 15-20 gallons of water per acre. Low amounts of water, less than 15 gallons, may increase glyphosate activity. Rates of water higher than 20 gallons may dilute the affects. If possible, different rates should be sprayed in plots to check efficacy.

Avoid spraying within two weeks of air temperatures falling below 32ºF. Remove domestic livestock from seed production fields prior to application. There is no waiting period after making this application with recommended rates before grazing or harvesting treated areas. On established lawns, allow spray to dry on foliage before allowing persons or pets to use treated areas.
