Projector Setup

1. Lower Screen

The screen control has three positions: raise, lower, and neutral. Return the switch to neutral when the screen stops moving.

2. Turn off Lights

The remote sensor on the projector is light sensitive. It will not respond if the lights are on.

3. Turn on projector with remote

Press the green Standby/Power button. The projector will begin to ‘warm up.’

4. Select Video mode with remote

The message in the lower right corner should read:

If it doesn’t, press the video button on the remote so that it does.

Prepare Components

1. Turn on VCR and Amplifier

Press the Power button on the VCR and on the amplifier. Various indicators will tell you the devices are on.

2. Adjust Volume

The speaker volume level can be adjusted by the master volume dial on the amplifier.

The VCR volume can be adjusted by dial number 1 on the left.

Insert Video Cassette

When a video is loaded into the VCR, it will begin playback automatically. All standard controls are available on the VCR console.

Room 202 and 303: Laptop/PowerPoint

Plug in Laptop

1. Connect RGB Cable Plugs

One end connects to the panel in the media cabinet and the other connects to your laptop.

Projector Setup

4. Select RGB 1 mode with remote

The message in the lower right corner should read:

If it doesn’t, press the RGB button on the remote until it does.

Send picture signal

1. Turn on laptop

If Windows has loaded and the ‘no input’ message is still being projected, you will need to change viewing modes on the laptop.

A)Press and Hold Fn Key

B)Press CRT/LCD and release[Note: the CRT/LCD key is sometimes a different button depending on the laptop manufacturer. It is occasionally represented with a picture of a computer monitor, or another related symbol.]

Repeat this procedure until the desktop appears on the laptop as well as the projector screen.

Optional: Audio Setup

1. Connect Audio Cable Plugs

The audio plug is conveniently built into the RGB cable. Insert one end into the laptop’s headphone jack.

Insert the other end into the input jack 

in the media cabinet.

2. Turn on Amplifier

Press the Power button on the amplifier.

Various indicators will tell you the device is on.

3. Adjust Volume

The speaker volume level can be adjusted by the master volume dial on the amplifier.

The Laptop volume can be adjusted by dial number 2 on the left.

If the sound is still too low, check the system volume settings in Windows. For XP users, click onStart > All Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Volume Control. The leftmost slider controls the master volume for all applications.

When you are finished with the equipment, turn off all components, raise the screen, and return the projector remote to the media cabinet. Keep in mind that once the projector has been turned off, you will need to wait 5 minutes before you can turn it on again.
