WELCOME TO THE CILTA E-Newsletter

CILTA Young Achiever Wins International Award

Catherine Wallace who won the Australian Supply Chain and Logistics Young Achiever Award for 2007 has been awarded the CILT International Young Achiever’s Award for 2008.

Catherine’s international award was announced in Hong Kong on Friday, 30th May and was presented to Catherine by the International President of CILT, Richard Hunt.

Catherine is the Occupational and Health Manager at the Public Transport Authority WA. Chief Executive Reece Waldock FCILT was a strong supporter of Catherine’s nomination.

Catherine was in Hong Kong as part of her ASCL Award sponsored by CILTA. The CILTA sponsorship included a fully-paid trip to Hong Kong to represent CILT Australia at the International Young Members’ Summit. As fate would have it Catherine’s father, Chris Wallace, was present at the international awards and we had one proud Dad.

Catherine won the international award for her initiative in developing and leading the implementation of national changes in the health assessment of rail safety workers. Catherine’s performance was one of creation and dedicated drive in introducing significant changes to the rail industry.

Catherine will receive a sponsorship of two thousand pounds sterling as part of her International Award. Catherine will use this sponsorship in the development of her career and in the broader knowledge of occupational health and safety.

Catherine did not waste time in advancing her knowledge of safety development with several visits to major transport and logistics operators in Hong Kong.

Congratulations to Catherine for her magnificent achievement. She is a real credit to the industry and to the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport

Chris Wallace joins daughter Catherine and Len Harper
