Romania and Bulgaria Proposals for joint R&D projects,

within EUROSTARS Programme, INCDTP

The National R&D Institute for Textiles and Leather-INCDTP is pleased to invite you to participate in a research project in Eurostars program. This program was expanded with collaboration between SMEs from Romania and Bulgaria.

The partners should include at least one Romanian and one Bulgarian R&D performing SME. Participation of research institutes/universities/large companies is welcome as additional participants or subcontractors according to each country’s funding regulations.

The project should have an obvious advantage and added value resulting from the cooperation between the participants from the two countries (e.g. increased knowledge base, commercial leads, access to R&D infrastructure etc.).

Thus INCDTP wants to submit two research projects:

1.  Project title: Novel composites for personal protective equipment against multiple hazards

Abstract:
Workers in the oil and gas sectors are exposed to a number of hazardous environments against which they require protection: flames, heat and accidental explosions, static electrical charges, impact from machinery parts or falling objects, toxic or injurious gases or chemicals, thermal stress (heat and/or cold), etc.

There are two main general goals for the project (1) the development of personal protective equipments ( PPE ) incorporating multiple protective properties designated for workers in the oil and gas industry (2) ensure the physiological comfort of the wear.

Expected results of the proposed work

Identification of the aspects related to multi-risk protective textiles;
Definition of the product specification; Selection of Materials; Prototype Design; Development of prototype textile samples; Test and Validation; Re-engineering of the product/process
Expertise needed

Type of organisation: SME/industrial partner in the field of designinig and
accomplishing of textile or/and PPE.

Expertise: to develop and apply the specific functionalizing materials capable of providing multiple protective functions.

2.  Project title: Working platform and network for disabled people garments

Abstract:
The aim is to develop an innovative working platform and network support for the garment producers for people with disabilities, obese and elderly. The platform will integrate many modules (e.g. body shape, guideline for designing clothing, library of basic models and patterns correlated with the disability).

Expected results of the proposed work

The body shapes according with disability type, clothing models for different disabilities type, patterns library, platform and network.

Expertise needed

Type of organisation: SME/industrial partner in the field of pattern designinig and garments manufacturing
Expertise: to contribute at statistical anlysis of body dimensions, expertise in pattern design and IT, if it is possible.
