The annual meeting of the Nebraska FFA Alumni met January 21, 2012 at the Howard Johnson Motel in Grand Island, Ne. The meeting was called to order by the President Kurt Frauen at 8:00 am.
Roll called showed 12 affiliates and 97 members present.
The minutes of the last annual meeting were read. It was moved by Joe Baldassare and second by Ken Sabata to accept the minutes. It carried.
The membership report was given. It showed 1933 National and State members.
The 2011 Treasurer’s Report was given by Kevin Henrichson, It was moved by Ken Sabata and second by Rich Douglass to accept the financial report. It carried.
The 2012 budget was given by Kevin Henrichson. It was moved by Les Hornung and second by Joe Baldassare to approve the budget. It carried.
Joe Baldassare read through the suggested revisions, to the By-Laws and Articles of Incorporation. It was moved by Joe Baldassare and second by Ken Sabata to adopt the revisions of the By-Laws and Articles of Incorporation. It carried.
The Nebraska FFA Foundation report was given by Jill Goedeken.
Election for District Council Members was held per district. The results are:
District 8 – Nancy Harders – three year term
Elections were held for Council Members for Districts not having someone who would like to fill their district. Those elected will serve a one year term. The results are:
District 1 – Rich Douglass
District 3 – Lora Walla
District 10 – Bill Buettner
District 11 – Brent Frauen
District 13 – Joe Baldassare
It was moved by Jill Goedeken and second by Joe Baldassare to accept the council members. It carried. The 2013 FFA Alumni Convention will be Alliance Nebraska, January 25 & 26.
Jill Goedeken explained the T-Shirt sales at the State FFA Convention, asking for Volunteers for Thursday March 29th.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:35.
A noon follow up meeting was convened at the Grand Island Northwest High School at the Saturday luncheon because a necessary item was omitted from the agenda at the morning meeting. Because of the by-laws changes accepted earlier, all new representatives needed to be appointed and approved .
It was moved and seconded to elect 13 representatives to their new positions.
