Role: Sessional Lecturer in Biology

Salary: Hourly rate based on the harmonised scale, points 23-37.

c. £23.3k - £35.3k per annum

Accountable to: Head of Faculty

Location: High Pavement

Portfolio of responsibilities:

·  Work with your Head of Faculty, Faculty Area Managers and other cross-faculty colleagues to deliver excellent teaching whilst developing outstanding resources and course materials within the team.

·  Motivate and inspire individual students to exceed their expectations and goals. Ensure learners produce the highest level of work and are empowered to take ownership of their studies to achieve excellent results.

·  Ensure our learners are fully prepared for employment through programmes of outstanding and innovative teaching and learning, guest speakers, live client brief and work experience opportunities.

·  Ensure our learners are equipped with all employability skills to gain meaningful employment in their chosen specialist field or progress on to higher levels of education within their specialism.

·  Ensure learners are equipped with the practical skills and abilities to progress in the field of administration alongside the core skills of literacy and numeracy.

·  Work with colleagues across the organisation to promote enterprise within and outside of the curriculum delivery. Use a range of industry practitioners and guest speakers to create live client briefs and simulated work environments to produce corporately viable work of the highest standard.

·  Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a dynamic and responsive curriculum offer is delivered to the highest quality.

·  Collaborate with the Business Support colleagues to ensure all students have access to excellent resources to maximise their learning potential.

·  Collaborate with colleagues to ensure all opportunities for employer involvement and support is maximised for the benefit of our students.

·  Collaborate with colleagues in developing, implementing and evaluating innovative strategies to enhance the student experience at Nottingham College.

Corporate responsibilities

Qualifications:
1 / Hold a recognised Teaching Qualification e.g. PGCE or Certificate in Education / E / X

Be educated to degree level in the relevant subject

Experience and Skills:
4 / Have experience and knowledge of delivery of the subject area / E / X / X
