Candidate Statement I believe my experience and qualifications make me well-suited to serve on the Board. My practice, educational and administrative backgrounds encompass a wide spectrum of development, administration and evaluation expertise. I have been a certified women's health nurse practitioner since 1-993; my clinical practice has been almost exclusively with vulnerable populations across the lifespan. I currently see patients 1 1/2 days per week at a rural health department and an inner city safety net hospital clinic.

In addition, 1 have over 20 years' experience as an educator in all levels of nursing education. Currently I am a Clinical Associate Professor at the School of Nursing at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, teaching in the BSN and DNP programs. I am also experienced in continuing nursing education administration and serve as the Director of Continuing Nursing Education at UMKC.

Nationally, I am the Project Director for the Title X Clinical Training Center for Family Planning. This federally-funded initiative has been in operation since 2006 and this is our second funding cycle. We do extensive reproductive health training for family planning professionals in Title X settings via this cooperative agreement. I also serve on the Board of Directors of the Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health (NPWH). My involvement with both organizations provides an opportunity for the NCC and NPWH to communicate and collaborate easily and efficiently.

I appreciate the opportunity to apply for a Board of Directors position. I have the interest, enthusiasm and experience to lend to NCC.

Candidate Statement

Inthe years that I have served as a member of the Electronic Fetal Monitoring Exam Content Committee I have the utmost respect for the organization and its mission and believe that certification and maintenance of competency is an important component of ensuring that health care professionals are delivering quality care.

My interest in serving on the Board of the NCC is motivated by my desire to contribute to the organization and to play a role in furthering it's mission. I believe that certifying competency in a specialized skill is essential to ensuring quality health care and to serve on the Board of the most renowned certification organization would be a privilege and a professional obligation that I would embrace enthusiastically.

Candidate Statement

I have had the privilege of serving as a member of the Board of Directors of National Certification Corporation (NCC) since 2008. NCC consistently sets the mark of excellence for nurse certification organizations and provides its constituency a credential of which to be proud. As a maternal-newborn nurse, I have attempted to particularly represent NCC’s base of nurses certified in maternal-newborn, in-patient obstetrics, and low-risk newborn nursing. Serving in the Nominating Committee would allow me to represent this constituency for future NCC leadership.
