DIY tea from the garden- Drop into the community garden at the Showground and discover different teas you can make yourself from the garden. We will try some samples, and make some of our own. This is a practical program held over 4 sessions which includes personal survival techniques, improved swimming skills, skills to deal with emergency situations (including CPR) and a thorough understanding of water safety knowledge in order to reduce the likelihood of drowning.Participants will be awarded with a certificate of completion at the end of the 4 sessions.

Blacktown: Senior’s Film Presentation

As we commemorate the end of the centenary of World War 1, Blacktown Library will be screening 2 related documentary films. The first showing will be a documentary on Gallipoli that was produced over 6 years and in 7 different countries using newly uncovered diaries, letter, and photographs from both sides, and is narrated by Sam Neill and Jeremy Irons.

The second showing is The Hero of the Dardanelles from the year 1915, an incomplete feature that has been reconstructed by the National Film and Sound Archives with additional still images required to fill in the missing scenes.
