Know your chemicals and do not risk resistance by
repeated use of same chemical or chemical group
PURCHASE
Chemical purchased from Agsafe accredited
premises.
Only purchase quantities immediately required
MSDSs obtained and available to all to read
Container and label condition checked on delivery
Where possible select Envirodrums
Avoid damaged/ expired/ clearing sale products
TRANSPORT
Vehicle checked for hazards and made suitable for
chemical transport (ie fit sides)
“Ute it … not Boot it”
Chemicals loaded to prevent loss, damage, spill
Don’t leave vehicle with chemicals loaded unattended
Dangerous Goods signs placed on vehicle if needed and
transport paperwork/requirements adhered to
Suitable/ safe route chosen. Drive straight home
Spill kit and protective clothing carried as appropriate
for chemicals to be transported
STORAGE
Store well lit, ventilated and bunded to catch spills
Lockable to protect animals, people and environment
Warning signs, emergency contact numbers visible
Storage minimises danger and protects quality of
chemicals. Segregate chemicals as label directs
Regular checks on containers/ label conditions and
quantities
Staff know problem reporting procedures
Wash facilities, eye flush facilities
Kept tidy with clear access

MIXING
Mixing site suitable and will not cause environmental

Replace worn items promptly, note life of respirator
cartridges and replace
Staff know how to report hazards, safety concerns to
manager. Record information.
Advise staff of results of safety reviews and changes to
procedures as part of continuous improvements
