The Parish: all schools and public services within our borders.

The Church:all worshipping groups and communities within our borders.

The Persecuted Church:Syria:At least 72 Assyrian Christian families - thought to be around 200 people - have been captured from three villages by the self-proclaimed Islamic State. An additional 50 or more families are still under siege in Tel Shamiram. Only 200 Christian families remain in the Khabour region.

The World:the entire world as it stumbles from one crisis to another as if in darkness.

The Nation: strengthen our resolve as we attempt to lead our young people back to a respect for you and for leadership.

Ourselves: help as we pilgrimage through and for the reality of the great hope which follows it .

Prayer for the week:

Lord, in these days of mercy, make us quiet and prayerful;

in these days of challenge, make us strong in you;

in these days of emptiness, take possession of us;

in these days of waiting, open our hearts to the mystery of your cross.Amen.

LMIGHTY God, whose most dear Son went not up to joy but first he suffered pain, and entered not into glory before he was crucified: mercifully grant that we, walking in the way of the cross, may find it none other than the way of life and peace; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
