Ringland Community Meeting - Mon 17th November - Village Hall – 7pm Several people have expressed an interest in various community events and the ‘Friends Of Ringland’ is set up to bring together anyone in the Village who would like to help with community events and fundraising. We have to be very ‘self-sufficient’ in the village with the excellent improvements to the village hall now is a great time to re-launch the ‘Friends’ to bring together more people. There will be wine and nibbles and we will talk about and collect ideas for events and community activities for 2015.

Please come along and we look forward to seeing you.

!!Family First Aid Training Course!!

The recent first aid course was well attended and several people who couldn’t make it have asked if a further session can be arranged. This will be done in the New Year. The course is run by Andy Anderson from First Aid at Work (Norfolk) Ltd. Cost is £10 per person. To register your interest please contact Ian Colman on 868680 or

Here are some comments from those who attended:

‘’John and I attended the very useful Family First Aid course recently. It was full of useful and practical information which gave us some of the knowledge of what we to do and possibly, as importantly, what we should not do, when faced with a 'casualty'. There were lots of handy hints as well clear explanations, demystifying some medical conditions. Our trainer, Andy, told us some interesting and often amusing real life examples from his wide experience which also made the evening entertaining.

Enjoyed the event, learnt a lot - great use of the new village hall!’’

Operation Christmas Child – Shoebox Service 23rd Nov –10.15am

Operation Christmas Child is the world’s largest children’s Christmas project, run by the Christian relief and development organisation Samaritan’s Purse. This is supported by the Shoebox appeal where you wrap an empty medium sized shoebox and fill with new gifts for a child overseas. If you would like to compile a shoe box then please pass to Dian (88 The Street) or bring to the Shoebox Service at the Church at 10.15am on 23rd November.

Halloween Party! - Thanks for all who came!

Around 30 children and parents came along to the spooky Halloween evening at the village hall where they enjoyed food, drink, games and Halloween crafts. As it was such a great evening we are arranging a Children’s Christmas Party from 6pm – 8pm at the Village Hall on Monday 22nd December. Cost will be £3 per child and will include a ‘disco’! Age under 12. Help needed so please email or come along to the meeting on November 17th at the Hall when we will talk about this and other events.

Reminder - Glass & Paper recycling:

You will have seen recent publicity from Broadland District Council concerning increased recycling options for the grey bins including glass bottles. Ringland Parish Council has elected to retain the bottle and paper banks at the Swan Inn and we would encourage all residents to continue to dispose of paper, bottles and jars at these banks. Ringland receives around £1000 per year for the recycling banks which helps reduce the council tax payable by residents. Sadly we receive nothing for glass/paper placed in grey bins!
