Video Game Contest
Rules
1. Contest Dates:The contest begins at 12:01 am Eastern Standard Time on October 6, 2017 and ends at 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time on January 31, 2018.
2. Eligibility:The contest is open to all legal residents of the Province of Newfoundland and Labradorbetween the ages of twelve (12) and (18) years. The Right to Life Association’s employees,officers and directors and their respective immediate family members, together with any other persons residing with such employees, officersor directors, are not eligible to enter. Immediate family members are considered to be parents, children, siblings and spouses.
3. Entry:Eligible applicants can enter the contest by submitting their idea that shows “What caring for human life looks like”. This could involve caring for the weak, the elderly, the disabled, the defenceless or other ideas. Applicants can submit their ideas as a drawing, in writing in ten (10) sentences or less, or both. Applicants must submit their entries by email to ong with an entry form signed by a parent or guardian of the applicant.
4. Rights granted by applicants:By entering the contest, applicants agree that: (a) Right to Life Association and its licensees, successors and assigns will have the right to use all or a part of the applicant’s entry name, anywhere in the world and in perpetuity, for future advertising, trade, promotion and publicity in any manner and in any medium now known or hereafter devised throughout the world in perpetuity, without compensation and without notice to the applicant and without consideration, review or approval from the applicant; (b) the applicant will not now nor in the future be paid for the applicant’s entry or for granting Right to Life Association any of the rights set out in these Rules; (c) entries are not returnable and become the property of Right to Life Association; and (d) the applicant assigns to Right to Life Association all rights in and to the entry.
5. Judging: Alleligible entries received before the end of the contest will be reviewed by a panel of judges selected by Right to Life Association. From such eligible entries, the panel will select the three entries which best exemplify “What caring for human life looks life” and will rank the three entries in order. The top-ranked entry will receive the first prize, the second-ranked entry will receive the second prize and the third-ranked entry will receive the third prize. The three winning entries will be announced on February 28, 2018.
6. Prizes:Theentry which is awarded first prize will be developed into a video game by Right to Life Association and the applicant’s name will be included in the game. First prize also includes the applicant’s choice of one of either a $100 Steam gift card or a $100 iTunes gift card. Second prize is the applicant’s choice of one of either a $50 Steam gift card or $50 iTunes gift card. Third prize is the applicant’s choice of either a $25 Steam gift card or $25 iTunes gift card.
7. Notification and Redemption:The selected prize winners will be notifiedby e-mailor phone. If the selected winner does not respond to the notification within fourteen days (14) days of the announcement of the winning entries and Right to Life Association has made two (2) separate contact attempts, the potential winner will be disqualified. If the first prize winner is disqualified, then the second-ranked entry will receive the first prize, the third-ranked entry will receive the second prize and the panel of judges will select from among the remaining eligible entries the entry which best exemplifies “What caring for human life looks like” and that entry will receive the third prize. If the second-ranked entry is disqualified, then the third-ranked entry will receive the second prize and the third prize will be awarded in the same manner as above. If the third-ranked entry is disqualified, then the third prize will be awarded in the same manner as above. As a condition of receiving the prize, each winner must complete and return to Right to Life Association, within seven (7) days of receipt, a compliance, release and indemnity (“Release Form”) in which, among other matters, the winner confirms compliance and eligibility with these Rules, correctly answers, unaided, a mathematicalskill-testing question and releases and indemnifiesRight to Life Association. If a potential winner refuses or fails to return the required documents in accordance with these Rules, or is found to have violated the Rules in any way, or is deemed ineligible to receive a prize for any reason, or if any prize or prize notification from Right to Life Association is returned as undeliverable, the potential winner will be disqualified and any remaining prize will be awarded in the same manner as above.
Anycosts and expenses are the sole responsibility of each winner.
8. Odds:Odds of winning any prize depend on the total number of eligible entries received before the end of the contest and the manner and degree, as determined by the panel of judges, to which an applicant’s entry exemplifies “What caring for human life looks like.”
9. Restrictions:The following are prohibited and will result in automatic disqualification from the Contest: (a) non-compliance with these Rules; and (b) any other act which Right to Life Association determines, in its sole discretion, jeopardizes the integrity or proper conduct of the contest.
10. Privacy:By entering the contest, applicants consent to the collection and use of personal information, as provided by applicants in entering the contest, for the administration of the contest. No such personal information will be disclosed, except as required by law,or sold to any third party.
11. General Terms and Conditions:This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. By accepting any prize, winners acknowledge that Right to Life Association has neither made, nor is in any manner responsible or liable for any representations, guarantees or warranties, express or implied, in fact or in law, regarding any awarded prize, including but not limited to its quality, merchantability or condition. By participating in the contest, each participant agrees to release and hold Right to Life Association and its employees, officersand directors (collectively, the “Released Parties”), harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind arising from or in connection with participation in the contest or the acceptance, possession or use of any prize.The Released Parties are not responsible for any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from an entrant’s participation in the contest or from downloading any material from Right to Life Association’s web site or from any other internet web site.
The Released Parties are further notresponsible for: (a) electronic transmissions or entries that are lost, late, stolen, incomplete, illegible, damaged, garbled, destroyed or misdirected; (b) any problems or technical malfunctions, errors, omissions, interruptions, deletions, defects, delays in operation of transmission, communication failures, destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries; (c) failed or unavailable hardware, network, software or telephone transmissions, damage to an entrant’s or any person’s computer or its contents, or causes beyond Right to Life Association’s reasonable control that jeopardize the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this contest; (d) any entries submitted in a manner that is not expressly allowed under these Rules; or (e) incorrect or inaccurate entry information whether caused by entrants or by any of the equipment or programming associated with orutilized in the contest. All incomplete or non-conforming entries will be disqualified.If, for any reason, this contest cannot be executed as planned, including but not limited to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause(s) beyond the reasonable control of Right to Life Association that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the contest, or if the contest is compromised or becomes technically corrupted in any way, electronically or otherwise, Right to Life Association reserves the right to terminate the contest.
Right to Life Association reserves the right to amend the Rules at any time without any liability to any contestant.
