As part of Team Action what do I get?
When you join Team Action, we'll support you all the way.

What is the minimum age to take part on this event?
The minimum age to take part in the RideLondon-Surrey 100 is 18 years old on the day of the ride.
What’s the difference between an own place and a Golden Bond place?
An Own Place entry is one that the participant obtains themselves from the event organiser for a registration fee. Golden Bond Places are offered by us on condition that the participant pays an entry fee and raises a specific amount.
Own places are given out by the organisers by public ballot. Our Golden Bond places are generally distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you have secured a Golden Bond place with us you will automatically become part of The Action Team and receive regular updates from us.
If you have already secured your Own Place in the ride, you can still join Team Actionand access the same benefits, but can define your own fundraising target.
How fit do I have to be?
The RideLondon challenge is a tough yet achievable event. You’ll need to have a reasonable level of fitness and who is prepared to put in plenty of training beforehand. The more you train, the more you will enjoy the challenge. It is a great incentive to train and get fit, whilst at the same time knowing you are raising funds for an excellent cause.
What bike is best?
You need to provide your own bike for this challenge and would recommend a road bike. Your bike must be well maintained and in good working order. You should carry spare inner tubes and a small pump. There will be support on hand to deal with any serious repairs.
Why do Charity place riders have a fundraising target?
Action Medical Research pays for its charity places. Cyclists who are allocated these places are required to commit to a specific fundraising target. We need to ensure that we not only cover the cost of your place, but also make money to fund research projects.
Own Place riders secure and pay for their place from the race organisers. This means Action don't pay for their involvement in the ride. As an Own Place rider you can raise as much money as you can; you’re not committed to a specific fundraising target.
Does Gift Aid count towards the fundraising target?
The tax claimed on Gift Aid donations forevents does not form part of the fundraising total. However, you should encourage your sponsors to tick the Gift Aid box if they are UK tax payers as this is an important source of additional income for the charity.
When will I get my race information and rider number?
Your rider number is allocated by the race organiser. You’ll need to pick up your rider number in London at Excel before the ride. Details about this will come out to you by post in your final instructions magazine. The race organisers will also inform you of all other race day details about getting to the start line, start times, the course and more.
What happens if I can no longer ride?If you obtain a place and inform us before the end of April that you cannot ride, Action Medical Research will then have the opportunity to fill your place with someone on the reserve list. If you have to withdraw after April, please do let Action Medical Research know. Although we will not be able to transfer your place to someone else at that stage, we will however be able to roll your place over to the following year if you would like.
Please Note: If you do have to withdraw from the event we are unable to refund your registration fee.

How do I go about paying my sponsorship money in?
There are a number of ways you can pay in your sponsorship. These include:
· Using your personal online sponsorship page
· By sending us a cheque made payable to Action Medical Research with your contact details attached and the event you participated in. To post your cheque and details to: Action Medical Research, Vincent House, Horsham, West Sussex, RH12 2DP
· By calling us on 01403 210406 and asking for our bank details. We will give you a reference to use when making the transfer.
How do I obtain supplies like collection tins and balloons?
