REPORT OF 37TH COLPOSCOPY COURSE 2010

This year Cytology Clinic conducted “Mrs. Mohineeben I. Bhatia” 37th Annual Colposcopy Course from 25th August 2010 to 28th August 2010. Oncology Committee of FOGSI supported our programme

The total numbers of the candidates were 32 Gynecologists; few participants came from outside Mumbai like Pune, Nashik, Bihar, Nagpur & Aurangabad.

Last day the programme was arranged at the Terrace Hall of West End Hotel, Marine Lines.

On this occasion, the AMWI Website was launched by Dr. Jyotiben Trivedi.

Valedictory Function was followed by Group Discussion, Great Debates & 2 Orations.

“Advani Braganza Oration” – Dr. Ameeta Maheshwari from Tata Memorial Hospital was the recipient. The title of her oration was “Harmonizing Cervical Cancer Screening Methodology”

“Dr. Aptekar visiting Professor Lecture” was delivered by Chairman of Oncology Committee Dr. Harshad Parasnis from Pune. He delivered a talk on “Current Perspectives on Cervical Cancer in India”.

This year we had “Dr. Winifred Fernandes Guest Lecture” & it was given to Dr. Meherbanoo Kamal from Nagpur. She delivered a lecture on “Rural Cancer Screening”. She is the current Secretary of “Indian Academy of Cytologist”.

All National speakers were honored with the awards, certificates & felicitations.

All the participants & faculty members went with the happy memories of the course & requested for more courses in further.

Donations were received as follows:

Ishwardas Bhatia Trust – Rs. 26,000/- for 37th Annual Colposcopy Course 2010 & from many Pharmaceuticals companies.

Dr. Gita Bhatia continued to support our course with a generous donation in memory of her Mother. Hence it was called “Smt. Mohineeben I. Bhatia Course”.

We also received support from Oncology Committee of FOGSI.

Many pharmaceutical companies participated in the programme.

Indian College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ICOG) has sanctioned 19 credit points for this programme. This was duly printed in our Certificate. It will be of great value to all the participants.
