•2015-2019*Ph.D., Earth Science: Research seeks to understand the effects of tectonically driven basin subsidence on the construction of deltaic stratigraphy

*anticipated graduation date: May, 2019

Rice University, Department of Earth Science, Houston, TX, USA

•2013-2015M.S., Earth Science:“Downstream elimination of gravel in multiple distributary channels on the Selenga River delta topset, Russia: a morphodynamics case study of fan delta at the Baikal Rift basin margin” [Thesis Committee: J.A.Nittrouer (advisor), J.B.Anderson, G.R. Dickens]

University of Texas, Jackson School of Geosciences, Austin, TX, USA

•2009-2013B.S., Geological Sciences

Work and Research Experience:

Field work in the Selenga Riverdelta for master thesis, Lake Baikal, Siberia, Russia •2013, 2014 Collected single-beam bathymetry and side-scan sonar data to constrain channel geometry.

Collected channel bed and bank materials for grain size analysis.

Collected bank elevation data to calculate bankfull water discharge

Collaborated closely with Russian colleagues during field work and the International Delta Meeting (July 2014).

Morphodynamics Laboratory, Jackson School of Geosciences, Austin, Texas, USA

•2013Prepared and ran flume experiments to simulate submarine flows (turbidity currents & debris flows) to further understand deepwater transport processes

Assembled the frames of the experiment flume
Prepared sediment mixtures with different sand to mud ratio and tested their viscosity using OfiteViscometer

Gathered sediment samples from flume deposit for grain size analysis

Wind Tunnel Laboratory, Jackson School of Geosciences, Austin, Texas, USA

•2012Prepared and ran physical experiments to predict patterns of aeolian sand accumulation and non-occurrence in northwestern Gulf of Mexico under Jurassicwind pattern

Tested a variety of fluid and zinc oxide mixtures to determine the most ideal representation of aeolian sand

Interpreted images of wind-blown mixtures to determine their transport pattern.
