SUMMARY

Matthew is an experienced financial and commercial Company Director and Charity Trustee who hassimultaneously developed his career in both sectors bringing his strong corporate skills to situations in the charity and not for profit sectors, and the softer skills required innot for profits to situations in the commercial sector.

He has spent the last 20 years creating and implementing change in a broad range of organisations initially working for banks and other creditors. For the last 15 years as an independent working for the shareholders, directors or trustees.

He has been involved with over 250 different organisations across multiple sectors including engineering, house builders, commercial construction, contracting, professional firms, retail, healthcare, education, grant making, fund-raising, service delivery charities, manufacturing and printing.

Matthew has undertaken a range of roles including leading turnarounds and change programs, executive and non-executive directorships, cashflow management,interim finance roles, independent reviews and the mentoring of chief executives through a turnaround.

He has worked with start-up organisations helping them to get their structure right from the beginning giving them a better chance of success. While his work necessitates a focus on the financial and commercial aspects of the business, Matthew prefers to take a holistic approach across the performance of the whole organisation.

He is a recognised speaker on Turnaround Management, and has been a guest lecturer at the CASS Business School of City, University in London for over 10 years. He created and chaired courses for R3 and IFT including a series of workshops for the business support departments of the main UK banks.

2008 Institute for Turnaround Awards (IFT) - Judges’ Commendation

Matthew was recognised for his work on the turnaround of the Charles Darwin Foundation in the Galapagos Islandselicited the following comment; “This charity is a key player in local, national, and international environmental conservation partnerships.The commendation shows that turnaround skills can make a real contribution to the UK and International Social Dividend.”

CAREER

Crondall Consulting Ltd - 2001 to Current

Working as an independent Turnaround Professional to help solve the problems faced by a variety of organisations. The majority of cases involve financial distress, but have also included family succession planning and strategic change in organisations. Experience includes over 80 different situations ranging in time commitment from a couple of weeks to 2-3 years with a longer term watching brief after the intense period of work has been completed.

DH Ductwork Ltd – 2013to Current

DH is a Ductwork Manufacturing business that started with the purchase of manufacturing equipment from an Administrator. Matthew is a shareholder and part-time FD helping this business to establish itself and grow, which it is doing successfully.

Levy Gee – Partner, Turnaround and Recovery Dept1996 –2001

Matthew undertook Independent Business Reviews for leading banks with assignments in over 150 organisations across most business sectors. He developed an integrated financial forecasting product providing a marketing advantage over other providers and built a team of financial modellers to deliver this service. He then helped form the Turnaround Management Department.

Matthew operated as a manager covering a mixed role of business start ups and insolvencies of family and SME businesses.

The Across Trust – Charity Worker1986 - 1988

Matthew was a Jumbulance driver for this charityin the Catholic shrine at Lourdes,France. Matthew continued his involvement after 1988 creating a leading a local group, and then taking a role as a Trustee for a number of years. He continues to travel to Lourdes as a group helper each year.
