1SCOPE OF SERVICES

1.1General Scope

1.1.1Landscape, Hardscape and Irrigation Design for the exterior pedestrian walkways, courts and plaza – does not include Yerba Buena Gardens

1.1.2Selection of site amenities including benches and waste receptacles

1.1.3Coordination between Landscape Architect, Architect/Westfield, LLC and Civil Engineer must be maintained; i.e. exterior areaways, special exterior paving designed by Landscape or Architect/Westfield, LLC shall be incorporated into the Civil drawings and all details shall be engineered by the Civil Engineer to avoid conflicting requirements.

2DETAILED SERVICES

1.2Schematic Design Review (2 weeks)

1.2.1Meet with Architect/Westfield, LLC to establish landscape program and confirm scope of work; conduct site visit to review existing conditions, site context and existing plant material.

1.2.2Review design concept presentation boards illustrating the recommended palate for softscape and hardscape design; prepare conceptual drawings in plan and elevation and illustrating the conceptual design.

1.2.3Develop planting concepts in conjunction with Westfield, LLC’s design.

1.2.4Participate in Schematic design teleconferences with Westfield, LLC/Architect and coordinate with other consultants regarding project concepts, design criteria, project cost guidelines and schedule parameters.

1.2.5Schematic design studies and layouts with sample plant illustrations.

1.2.6Prepare a preliminary landscape budget.

1.2.7Conceptual presentation: Prepare rendered plans, elevations, perspectives, in-house renderings, as required to illustrate the design intent of up to three (3) design options for review by Westfield, LLC at regional office or Westfield, LLC’s corporate office in Los Angeles.

1.3Design Development

1.3.1Develop approved conceptual/schematic design for planting.

1.3.2Review preliminary landscape lighting design plan by lightingconsultant.

1.3.3Finalize selection of specific plant species

1.3.4Coordinate hardscape designs with the Architect/Westfield, LLC, review paving materials, patterns and textures and coordinate solutions with the architect for all areas identified above.

1.3.5Coordinate irrigation plans with the Civil consultant for water supply, meter zones, and water saving concepts. Coordinate with the Electrical consultant for controller locations.

1.3.6Coordinate any fountain designs (if necessary) with the Architect for basin and water effects. Mechanical, electrical and pump room will be developed by the manufacturer.

1.3.7Develop landscape budget based on progress of work.

1.3.8Outline specifications for planting and irrigation.

1.3.9Design Development presentation: Prepare rendered plans, elevations, perspectives, in-house renderings, as required to illustrate the final design concept for review by Westfield, LLC’s corporate office in Los Angeles.

1.3.10Produce a final design development package, based on Westfield, LLC’s base drawings and review comments.

1.3.11Product – Site master plan depicting landscape designs will be presented to the Westfield, LLC for approval. Consultant will provide a cost estimate for the designs presented reflecting current construction costs. The estimates shall serve as a guide during design meetings. Budgets shall be confirmed and approved byWestfield, LLC.

1.4Construction Documents

1.4.1Final construction documents shall comply with the landscape site plan approved by Westfield, LLC and the City. Construction documents shall consist of the following:

  1. Site planting plans and details.
  2. Irrigation plans and details.
  3. Technical Specifications and bid documents (landscaping planting and irrigation only).
  4. Nursery tour tagging trees, if necessary.
  5. Review final construction documents with Westfield, LLC for approval.
  6. Plan check submissions and revisions coordinated through the architect.
  1. Product – One set reproducible drawings and specifications. All drawings will be provided in electronic format as well as hardcopy.

1.5Bidding

1.5.1Prepare one (1) set reproducible drawings for Westfield, LLC’s bid process

1.5.2Prepare unit bid forms for contractors to submit identifying unit costs, materials, installation, guarantees, and maintenance periods

1.5.3Provide Westfield, LLC with a list of recommended landscape subcontractors to bid the project

1.5.4Recommend contractor selection based on bids submitted by contractor.

1.6Construction Administration

1.6.1Attend one (1) pre-construction meeting on site with the General Contractor and Architect/Westfield, LLC to review site conditions, schedule, and submittal procedures.

1.6.2Perform two (2) site observation visits and associated site reports.

1.6.3Review record as built drawings prepared by Contractors

1.6.4One (1) final two-day punch list.
