Add the following to the Construction Requirements section of Special Provisions.
All Red text must be removed from the special provisions prior to the special provisions being submitted for project letting.
A. Revising Existing Mast Arm Pole Standards
Provide and install new mid mast arm straight mount plumbizers on existing traffic control signal truss-type mast arms as indicated in the Plan or as determined in the field by the Engineer .
Provide MnDOT approved straight mount plumbizers as listed MnDOT’s Approved/Qualified Products List for Signals:

Pick one of the methods below and delete the other unless you want to leave the option of mounting type up to the contractor.

Where new mid mast arm straight mount plumbizers are installed, use one of the following installation methods:
1. Provide and install a MnDOT approved “Strap-on Hub and Flange” in accordance with the Manufacturers’ instructions.
The MnDOT approved Strap-on Hub and Flange is listed on MnDOT’s Approved/Qualified Products List for Signals.

2. Provide and install a plumbizer “Signal Mounting Plate" in accordance with Standard Plate 8123. Weld the plumbizer signal mounting plate to the mast arm by a State certified welder to the satisfaction of the Engineer.
3. For painted mast arms, and after the plumbizer signal mounting plate has been installed, paint the mast arm as specified by MnDOT 2565.3X and to the satisfaction of the Engineer.
