Reviewed end of season notes from November meeting
Randy Taylor
- Reviewed 2016 budget
- Confirmed we now have the paperwork in place to do a 50/50 and raffle now, if we decide to do this again – no one seemed to miss this at the games, and we would not be able to have siblings help due to record keeping.
- Coaches gifts, one suggestion was to do what the varsity sports do and have money given at sign up for a coaches’ gift, or we can scratch the board giving gifts and just go with parent donations – majority felt the partner donations would be fine.
- Discussed saving some money on paint for the field, paint is $50/bucket, it was suggested we cut back on how many times we paint the field
- Tax return should we post on our site, or just make statement available upon request – majority felt available upon request was sufficient
- We have not been billed yet from the township for the field repair after the 2016 playoff games
Bridgette Rogers
- We need up ramp up recruiting, some ideas from the group
- Put an ad in Pine Creek Journal
- Facebook page-get admin rights put up posts each week to keep it out there
- Possibly recruit at EK Football Camp, see if we can set up a table
- Wexford Spring Fling, have a game and hand out information on the league and sign up
- Registration via Paypal only this season, no checks – equipment deposit checks would be the only checks
- Potentially raise registration fee, $225 First child, $200 Second Child, no fee for additional players
Laura Harper
- Team pictures use SBI, Mike Beraducci 412-287-4869
Christie Hernandez
- We need to make sure to change the Sam Club and Costco memberships to Christie
- Christie will empty the coolers in the concession stand
- We would like to get a new fryer, possibly propane and on wheels – Kelly Huffman to look into
- Concession inventory, we will need to have a starting inventory, keep receipts and then compare to the end of the season inventory to ensure we can account for inventory and spend
Brett Johnson
- Re-start the Buffalo Wild Wings fundraiser for this season
- Additional fundraising ideas:
- Parent Happy Hours
- Goodwill Donation Drive
- Get sports items signed for silent auctions
- Programs, put in team pictures, sell business card size ads, put in full ads for bigger sponsors
Mike Katic
Mike will ask Township about motion lights for the concession building outside where the equipment gets put away
We may need to purchase new field markers for the ground, some cannot be seen
Recondition helmets change the color to denote the newer ones, tabled for February meeting
At the next league meeting,
We would like to bring up to league having refs fees be part of the league fee
Potentially ask the league to increase the weight allowance for each division
Update from the league
Practice starts July 24th for no pads, and then July 31st full pads, August 19th first games and Super Bowl Nov 4th
Additional Items Discussed
- Leftover jerseys we should look into donating
- Pizza nights do we want to scratch it – need to come to a final decision, it is not a money maker. Football seems to like it, Cheer does not really have time to eat the pizza between rec and comp
- Banquet idea, cheer and football separate as an option, possible different location and caterer – we will keep it the same for this season, a white and green banquet
- Add a post season survey to the registration – still need to decide on this point
- Community day is August 12th
- Coaches, number of plays, setting expectations
- Limit to 1 head coach, 4 assistant coaches for football
- We need to ensure the right expectations are set for number of plays at the beginning of the season, and ensure one coach is keeping track at all games.
We will need to revisit some of the notes from end of last season, as not all were discussed or decided on.
