This is a really great place, and working with the owner couldn't have been easier. The cabin is within striking distance of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, and has a well-appointed kitchen. My kids loved it.
2/18/17-2/20/17 … We loved our time at the Bear Butte property. The fire pit and pool table were excellent and the location looks right across the Great Smoky Mountains. The deck, bbq and swing made for a very peaceful weekend away with the kids. Its a short 15-20 mins to Pigeon Forge and about an hour to get into the Smokies - but its a lovely drive. There were 2 king beds that were comfy. We didn't use the other beds but its useful to know that they were all sofa beds in the living room and upstairs. Overall we had a lovely peaceful stay. Thanks! – J Smibert

First time going to Tennessee and we had an amazing time!! The cabin was nice and you have to drive up in the mountains. It was a bit scary for us because we have never been. When it was time to go up and park the road was a bit steep. We were in a Tahoe so it was no problem but still a little scary. Views were amazing and house had a cozy feeling!!

We stayed a week in this beautiful cabin. Everything worked great, and the view was tremendous. GPS directed us flawlessly through the area. I highly recommend it for using the back roads, because the Parkway is congested. I would stay here again.

Bear Butte is a beautiful cabin with amazing views! We loved playing horse shoes and really enjoyed learning a new game, Puck Hole! It was wonderful to have a good size yard that the kids could play in while we sat on the beautiful deck overlooking the mountains. One of the best cabins we have stayed at in the Pigeon Forge area!

We simply could not get enough of the amazing mountain views! The huge comfy bed in the upstairs area offered an amazing sight to awake to! Even though there were other cabins nearby, they were very cleverly hidden by the surrounding trees. One word of warning, the "road" to the cabin is very steep and has a mixture of paved and gravel road. It's probably best to make your initial journey to the cabin during the daylight hours. (Learn from my mistake!!) We cannot wait to make a return trip!!

Our stay at Bear Butte was wonderful. The first thing I noticed when I arrived was the view from the wrap-around porch. It is AMAZING!!! There is a view in every direction. The woods around three sides are beautiful and quiet ... really making you feel like you are surrounded by and one with nature. I could have stayed in the swing and stared at the mountains for hours! Night time star gazing from the hot tub and deck over the mountains is simply incredible, as there are no city lights around to dim them. The cabin was very comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. It was in a secluded setting in a nice neighborhood, but close to restaurants and fun places to go. It took less than 10 minutes to get to Pigeon Forge, and the rec center pools, etc. We enjoyed dining outside, the fire pit, horse shoes, the hot tub and the game room, too. So much to do, you really need two weeks! I will definitely be back!
8/16 … Review #15825968 “Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge private mountain view cabin with last minute DISCOUNT!”
Great View, Very Private!
/ ★★★★★
We stayed at BEAR BUTTE. The privacy and views were awesome! Exactly what we were looking for! This cabin is in the country but not far from anything. We had bears (2- no problems though, we are use to them at home), country roads- paved, and if you are looking for close by neighbors/roads that are right on top of you- forget it (you can hear them but not see them). The cabin is clean, beautiful, and very comfortable- a home away from home. I can't say enough about the view. Morning and evening you will want to be on the porch swing with drink in hand. The four person hot tub is very nice also.
I appreciate the owner being available via email and text. Over all an excellent experience, thank you for sharing your home!

S Rosario 7/26-31/2015 ... I had traveled with a family 2 boys 8 and 12, and 5 adults. We first pulled up to the cabin and was amazed by the beautiful view that we had of the mountains. When we walked inside the cabin we were also amazed on how much room there was in the cabin for each of my family members. I personally enjoyed the pool table as my kids and I had a blast playing pool everyone night before we went to sleep. This was our first time staying in TN and in a cabin and we enjoyed every minute of it. We had gone to the recreation center twice which was maybe 10 minutes away and the fees were very affordable to be a tourist area. We had done one dinner show the Biblical story which was awesome. We had spent time in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, but did not get to see and do everything. My kids loved this cabin and hot tub so much that when they got home that is all they talked about to their friends and family member. We want to thank Mr. Rick and his staff for allowing us to stay in Bear Butte as it has exceeded all of our expectations of a cabin in the woods. WE will be back and plan on staying in the same cabin when we return next year.
