Education
a. Charge / This subcommittee will:
• Identify, design, deliver and evaluation professional development opportunities for faculty, residents, and staff
• Identify and allocate educational resources for requests for GME training
• Facilitate research in medical education
• Provide didactic and other materials to assist Program Directors and other GME leaders in meeting specific accreditation standards (e.g., Milestones, EPAs)
• Provide didactic and other materials to assist Program Directors and other GME leaders in meeting common challenges in GME (e.g., effective faculty supervision techniques, working with struggling residents)
• Offer didactics and other forums on newer elements of medical education
• Provide mentorship for junior faculty and residents who plan to have medical education as a key element of their career development

Quality Improvement and Patient Safety
a. Charge / The Quality Improvement/Patient Safety (QI/PS) subcommittee is responsible for oversight of QI/PS activities and educational opportunities for residents, fellows, and faculty. QI/PS will also serve as oversight for the Clinical Learning Environment (CLE) Council as well as for the Clinical Learning Environment Walks (CLEWs). The QI/PS subcommittee will make every effort to enhance training and participation of RCAs and FMEAs. QI/PS will support and collaborate with the IRB and QIRC committees to ensure timely reviews and approvals of resident/fellow projects. QI/PS will identify and strive to resolve barriers affecting quality improvement and patient safety activities and projects within the clinical learning environment.
• Raise awareness of patient safety and quality improvement tools and activities within the CLE among residents and fellows
• Encourage engagement of resident/fellow involvement in hospital wide initiatives and committees
