My dear members of the Massachusetts Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Officers, District Deputies, Chairwomen, Sister Ellen and Reverend Father Bill Salmon,

FROM YOUR STATE REGENT

It is with a very heavy heart that I write this letter to you with the passing of my beloved husband Dan on February 24th. God called him home to be in peace without anymore suffering or pain. This letter will be short so that you will get the information that you need. I am sorry that this is

late in getting to you.

DELEGATES AND ALTERNATES MEETING

On Saturday, April 1, 2017 there will be a meeting of all Delegates, Alternates and Non-Delegates in the Parish Hall of St. Clement Parish, 71 Warner Street, Medford, MA. Lunch will be provided at 12 noon and the meeting will begin at approximately 1:00 pm. Please contact Patricia Abruzese Johnston, 1st Vice State Regent to confirm your attendance.

CONVENTION BOOKLET

This convention we will be doing something a little different. We are inviting individuals and courts to place an ad in our convention booklet. We hope that each court will participate and place an ad. Deadline for these ads will be April 1st. All ads should be emailed to Patricia Adams, 2nd Vice State Regent at

Our winners for FEBRUARY GAMBIT have been drawn. (See attached winners.) Are you one of the lucky winners? Only those who have purchased a ticket can win. Please get this information to your members. Completed forms to join can be sent to Patricia Abruzese Johnston, 1st Vice State Regent, 148 Marble Street, #202, Stoneham, MA 02180. There are still a few months left for GAMBIT. GAMBIT supports our state scholarship program which gives scholarships to our youth. Without your support and participation we cannot give out all of our scholarships. We need to remember that our youth is our church of tomorrow.

STATE SCHOLARSHIPS

Please remember that the application for the $750.00 Massachusetts Catholic Daughters of the Americas High School Scholarship and the $1,200.00 Massachusetts Catholic Daughters of the Americas Collegiate Scholarship are on the State web site. Applications are due to the State Chairperson Ms. Nancy Ryan, 10 Wellesley Street, Medford, MA 02155 by April 1, 2017.

CIRCLE OF LOVE

The Circle of Love forms were mailed to each Court Regent. The mailing information for each Chairman was recorded on the top of the form. Please send your Circle of Love submissions to the Chairs by March 15thso that recognition can be made at the State Convention. Please contact State Secretary Patricia McShane if you need additional forms.

2017 NATIONAL NEWSLETTER CONTEST – It is that time for submission to the 2017 National Newsletter contest. Please refer to the September National Newsletter for the requirements and cover sheet. They may also be obtained on the National Website . Local court Regents need to submit their entries to State Regent Maureen Trainor, 77 Laurel Avenue, Bradford, MA 01835 by March 15, 2017.

WOMEN WHO EMBRACE THE VALUES OF THE GOSPEL – WOMEN WHO CONTINUE TO TAKE ACTION DOING SMALL THINGS WITH GREAT LOVE.

CONVENTION 2017 – The Convention Call has been sent out. Plans are in the making and meetings have been held. National Regent Helene Shepard, our past State Supervisor, will attend our State Convention to represent our National Organization. Let’s make this our best convention as we celebrate our 50th Biennial Convention and continue our 100th year anniversary.

Please remember and follow the dates for sending in your reservations with the hotel and the registration fee. Please also remember that we will have Fun Night on the Thursday before convention. Check the Convention Call for more information.

SPRING RAFFLE
Check your mail soon. Raffle tickets will be sent out to all members with the proceeds to be used to help defray the cost of our State Convention. The winners will be drawn at the Sunday, April 30th luncheon.

In closing, please remember all Catholic Daughters and their families and all who are in need of our prayers.

Let us pray for peace as the world around us is affected by turmoil. Let us pray for those who are affected by the opioid crisis that God will help to guide them as they try to turn themselves around. Let us also continue to pray for the safe return of all servicemen and women.
