Dear Parade Participant:

The Fiesta of Five Flags is pleased to invite you to participate in our 2013 Pen Air Federal Credit Union Fiesta Day Parade!The parade is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 6. Fiesta encourages everyone (21 years of age and older) to join us at Seville Quarter after the parade to continue the celebration.

Please be prompt for parade lineup as itbegins at 5:00 p.m. and must be completed by 6:00 p.m.Entries who arrive late will be placed in the most convenient position for parade officials.Fiesta will have captains at each block of Spring Street to assist with the parade. They will be checking for the correct number of spotters and pulling ill-equipped floats from the lineup. Remember that parade entries will not be refunded for any reason.

Completed parade applicationsmust be submitted to the Fiesta office no later than Thursday, April 25. Your completed application must include: your Application form with signed liability disclaimer, copy of initialed Parade Rules, copy of the driver's license for each driver, entry fee, a copy of your krewe’s certificate of insurance (with Fiesta named as additional insured) and proof of vehicle insurance. We strongly encourage you to keep a copy of all submitted materials for your records. Applicants will be notified by email regarding their acceptance by Friday, May 10, 2013.

Please note the following:

  • The parade will be limited to 50 entries on a first come, first serve basis.
  • NEW PRICING:The parade entry fee is $150 for your first float and $50 for each additional entry.
  • Each parade entry is required to provide spotters for their floats/vehicles – two spotters per axle (includes pulling vehicle). Spotters are individuals who are NOT PARADING, but walking next to the float to ensure the safety of parading krewe members and spectators. This will be strictly enforced and floats will not be permitted to parade without the appropriate number of spotters.All spotters must be at least 18 years of age, wear a safety vest(or Fiesta approved t-shirt) and remain sober for the entirety of the parade.
  • Each entry is REQUIRED to provide: 1.) proof of insurance for ALL vehicles 2.) a copy of driver’s license for each driver and 3.) a certificate of insurance for your krewe naming Fiesta of Five Flags as additional insured.
  • The Pen Air Federal Credit Union or the Fiesta of Five Flags, Inc. does NOT provide liability insurance for the protection of persons, organizations, spectators or others who participate in the Pen Air Federal Credit Union Fiesta Day Parade. It is required that your organization carry insurance for its own protection.
  • Use of golf carts for anyone other than members of the Fiesta of Five Flags staff and designated Parade Committee Volunteers is strictly prohibited.Golf carts are not permitted within the lineup area nor parade route without permission from the Fiesta of Five Flags Event Coordinator.
  • There is no charge for marching bands to participate and they are strongly encouraged to apply.

By submitting an application to the Fiesta of Five Flags, the applicant and/or Krewe, Business, or Group participating in the parade hereby irrevocably agrees and consents that his/her photograph, video digital or audio recordings, images, likenesses, comments and any displayed, dealt in and copyrighted by the Fiesta of Five Flags or its successors and assigns, and by any other person, corporation or association duly authorized by the Fiesta of Five Flags, with any restriction or limitation, for advertising and revoked by trade of every kind and any other purpose. This release is applicable now and in the future and cannot be revoked by applicant. It is understood and agreed that said photograph, picture, film, video, digital or audio recordings, images, likenesses, comments and any reproductions thereof, as well as any materials connected there with and the rights arising therefrom and thereunder, are the exclusive property of the Fiesta of Five Flags binding upon heirs, next of kin and personal representatives.

Parade Rules & Hold Harmless

Please initial next to each Fiesta Day Parade Rule signifying that you have read and understand the regulations below.

____To obey all instructions given by the Parade Committee, marshals and the City of Pensacola Police Department.

____DRIVERS: absolutely NO drinking of alcoholic beverages prior to driving or during the parade. It=s the LAW!

____Entries will provide their own spotters. Each spotter must be at least 18 years of age or older and remain sober for the entirety of the parade.Two spotters are mandatory for each axle. For example, vehicles with two axles must have four spotters; vehicles with four axles must have eight spotters, etc. Units without the proper number of spotters will NOT be allowed to parade.

____Insurance requirements cannot be waived - a copy of your insurance or declarations page which indicates your policy is active on the date of the parade is adequate. All units (Vehicles, Floats, etc.) associated with your organization must supply insurance information. Each vehicle and driver must also supply proof of insurance. Any unregistered conveyances will not be allowed to parade.

____State law requires each operator of a towing vehicle to be responsible for seeing that their trailer is properly secured and safety chains are provided. (Florida Statute 316.530)

____No live animals - dogs, cats, horses, reptiles, birds, fish, barnyard, wild, exotic or domestic animals of any kind are NOT allowed at lineup or on the parade route.Exceptions include the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office Mounted Posse.

____Throws are strongly encouraged. Throws must weigh 2 ounces or less, and be without sharp edges. No loose paper, confettior brochures are allowed by order of the City of Pensacola. Candy is NOT considered a safe throw item and is NOT permitted. To review City ordinance go to (Ordinance #19-90 1, 3-22-90).

____Lineup is entered at the corner of Main and Spring Streets ONLY. All vehicles must be headed north on Spring Street. Lineup begins at 5:00 p.m. and late arrivals will be placed in the most convenient spot. ALL DECISIONS ARE FINAL.

____It is the responsibility of your organization to have all participants on your float at 6:00 p.m. SHARP, parade begins at 6:30 p.m.

____On parade day, the driver and the vehicle must be the same as the information you have submitted in your parade application. If there is a change, Fiesta must be notified, and all pertinent documents (copy of license and proof of insurance) must be provided at check-in.

____Golf carts are not permitted within the lineup area nor parade route without permission from the Fiesta of Five Flags. Use of golf carts for anyone other than members of the Fiesta of Five Flags staff and designated Parade Committee Volunteers is strictly prohibited.

____After April 25, late applications will be accepted at the discretion of the parade committee and entrance fees will increase to $200.00 for the first unit and $75.00 for additional units.

Indemnification and Hold Harmless Agreement

In exchange for the right to participate in the Fiesta of Five Flags Pen Air Federal Credit Union Fiesta Day Parade (Athe Parade@) the undersigned, a duly authorized representative of , an organization participating in the Parade (the AOrganization@) agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the City of Pensacola, Pen Air Federal Credit Union, The Fiesta of Five Flags Foundation, The Fiesta of Five Flags Commission and The Fiesta of Five Flags Association and related entities, all agents, employees and volunteers of said organizations from any claim of whatever kind or nature arising out of acts of participants of the undersigned Organization and any of its representatives or individual participants in the parade or its staging area. This indemnification and hold harmless agreement shall be governed in all respects under the laws of the State of Florida.
