If two bids of the same amount are received for a lot then the bid received first will be given precedence, so early bidding is desirable. On a number of the lots there may be minimum prices (reserves) set by vendors.H” numbers refer to the catalogue numbers assigned to the bookplates in Brian North Lee’s book J.A.C. Harrison : Artist & Engraver (1983) (some copies available from the Society). Please refer to it for fuller details and biographies of owners. Measurements are of the engraved area, height by width in mm. Reserves vary, but assume at least £1 per 10cm2 of image area.
