OVERALL PURPOSE OF POST:
MAIN TASKS
1.  To assist the play scheme leader to plan and organise activities
2.  To provide a range of play opportunities for children on the play scheme
3.  To ensure that the physical and social needs of the children/ young people are met. These may include:
Ø  Assisting with washing, dressing, feeding and any toileting needs
Ø  Supporting the children/ young people so that they can fully participate in activities
Ø  Ensuring that the communication needs of the children/ young people are addressed
4.  To make sure that the wishes of children/ young people are heard and that they are encouraged and supported so that they can join in the activities of their choice.
5.  To promote and ensure the health, safety and welfare of the children and young people being supported
6.  To assist the play scheme leader in keeping accurate records of attendance; log book, accident/ incident book
7.  To assist the Play scheme Leader in the care of equipment
8.  To contribute towards the evaluation report
9.  To participate in supervision, attend meetings/ training sessions as required
10. To be conversant with and abide by WMDC policies and procedures relevant to the post including Health and Safety, Managing Risk Documents etc
