I Review Minutes – Minutes were approved.
II Program Update
1. Enrollment – Students must achieve college level reading via successful
completion of the Compass Reading Assessment. Compass scores in writing and
mathematics must also be at an acceptable level. Minimum COMPASS scores
are: Reading – 80, Writing – 70 and Math – 44 (Test I – Pre-Algebra).
Placement scores can not generally be waived by any coursework.
Students that do not receive a passing grade in a prerequisite/co-requisite course
due to failure (grade less than a 2.0) or withdrawal may repeat a prerequisite
course once. A student may generally only repeat a maximum of (2) different
prerequisite/co-requisite courses.
III NBRC Update
- Al Moss reviewed NBRC scores. Most content areas were above the national
mean the only content area that needs improvement is on the written RRT
exam. It is area IA-Review existing data in the patient record.
- Al Moss distributed the list of graduates that had attained the RRT. He
encouraged the advisory board members to push program graduates to complete the RRT credentialing process.
IV CoARC update
Al Moss distributed the CoARC report of current status. The program is above threshold in all areas. He is concerned about the return rate for Employer surveys and encouraged timely return of the surveys for the 2008 graduating class. He stated that these would be distributed during the Winter Semester.
Al distributed the CoARC 2007 Graduate survey results. Sixteen students responded to about 30 items. The cut score on these items is 3 on a 5 point Likert scale. Two items had 1 or 2 of the 16 student rate the item below a cut score of 3.
These items were:
Helped me acquire effective written communication skills
Taught me to conduct myself in an ethical and professional manner

Again the majority of the graduates (76-86%) rated the above items above 3.
