Aims /
  1. To enable the student to undertake collection of empirical data.
  2. To enable the student to present their research in a form suitable for publication

Learning outcomes/objectives / On successful completion of the module the student will be able to:
  • Apply the research design to the collection of empirical data.
  • Critically analyse the data and compare the results with published data.
  • Communicate the research findings in an effective manner.

Content / Students will:
Analyse data following their research proposal and present a progress report of their work.
Develop and prepare a research paper. This work will be presented in a format of an academic journal, which will have been agreed previously with the module leader, or tutor.
Teaching and learning strategies / Students will work independently leading their own learning. This independent work will be supported by project groups and, as relevant, by tutors. A formal progress report will be given by the student during the module.

Brief description of module content and/or aims (maximum 80 words) / This module is designed to encourage the student to develop and apply data analysis skills
It will allow the student to develop their verbal and written presentations skills in a formal manner akin to academic research dissemination
Independent work will be encouraged, through participation in project groups and meetings with the module leader and supervisors.
