Coastal Trends Workshop
When:August 9-12 2010
This 4-day workshop focuses on expanding ocean science content knowledge and utilizing web-based resources to teach about coastal trends in the classroom. Teachers will explore select ocean science topics (including seagrass, dead zones, ocean observing systems, microbes, and striped bass) through hands-on activities andfield experiencesbased out of theUniversity of Maryland’s Horn Point Laboratory on theChoptank River, a tributary to theChesapeake Bay.


Teaching Ocean Science Workshop

COSEE Coastal Trends has developed curriculum for a semester-long high school ocean science course and offers a 4-day workshop for educators interested in teaching the course. The curriculum is structured to integrate theOcean Literacy Essential Principlesand strives to utilize engaging hands-on activities to support each lesson.

The internship program at the Seattle Aquarium is designed to provide participants with practical learning experience and knowledge in the Zoo and Aquarium field.
