Professional Background

  • I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Assumption University, Bangkok, Thailand. As the university is an international university, all courses are conducted in English. My major wasInternational Business Management (IBM). Most of the courses relatedto international matters such as International Strategic Management, International Operations Management, and Export-Import Management, etc. Also, I took a few courses in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, and IT. In addition, I selected Japanese language as my minor subject.
  • After my graduation, I had an opportunity to work in Mizuho Corporate Bank, Ltd., Bangkok, Thailand. I worked as an officer in Operations Planning Division (OPD). My division was responsible for monitoring and controlling the overall performance of the branch, minimizing operational risks, and developing new plans. I was assigned to be an assistant to a senior staff to help her preparing several reports. Mostly, I was responsible for preparing monthly and quarterly reports and PowerPoint presentation for monthly committee.
  • I decided to do the research with Prof. Jay because I am interested to study and gain more knowledge about IT, particularly the internet and mobile, which is also relevant to the E-Business program I am currently taking. As Prof. Jay has many year of experiences and been recognized as one of the respectful Prof. in this field, I strongly believe that Prof. can help me achieve my goal.

Proposed Research Titleand Background

  • Internet and Mobile Banking in Thailand

As internet and mobile banking in Thailand has gained popularity recently, [see Literature Review] I am very interested to explore about the effect that they can bring to the business, economy, and the country. Initially, as discussed with Prof. Jay, I intended to focus sole on internet banking. However, as the world of technology moves so fast and brings the internet into the mobile phone, which gives more convenience to the users, I would to expand my study to include the importance of mobile banking.

Nevertheless, the main purpose of my study is still the same; to explore and analyze the importance of online banking and the impact, pros and cons that it brings to the society.

Objective

As I have experience and wish to continue working in banking industry, I would like to do the research relates to this field. I have seen continuous IT development from banks attempting to provide the best service to customers by giving them 24/7 access to their account. I would like to be the one who present the significance of internet and mobile banking in Thailand and forecast its growth and future.
