Research Placement

Part I. General Information

  Date: The whole year (You could choose to stay for four weeks or up to sixteen weeks.)

  Components: It combines research placement (lab internship) and field trip. Campus activities will also be held to help merge into local community.

  Target participants: Undergraduates or postgraduates majoring in medicine, engineering, liberal arts and law are welcomed. Please specify your preferred tutor and your research interest or internship plan in the personal statement.

  Academic credit: Upon completion of this program, the participants will receive a grade report, a certificate of completion of study, and up to 5.5 units of credit from Tianjin University (for a one-month program).

  About the disciplines of Tianjin University

As a comprehensive university with distinct strength in engineering, TJU has developed a disciplinary layout that integrates engineering harmoniously with sciences, management, education, economics, medicine, law, and liberal arts. There are four State Key Laboratories, three State Engineering Research Centers, two State Key Centers for the Promotion of Scientific and Technological Achievements and 68 provincial or ministerial key laboratories and engineering centers at TJU. In the National Discipline Assessment by Ministry of Education of China in 2012, 8 disciplines of TJU ranked top 5, 14 ranked top 10, among which Chemical Engineering ranked No. 1, Management Science and Engineering ranked No. 2, and Instrument Science and Technology, Optical Engineering, and Architecture ranked No. 3.
