SANCTIONING AGREEMENT FOR RACES INSURED BY OMCKRA

THIS IS AN AGREEMENT - PLEASE READ IT CAREFULLY

This agreement defines the responsibilities of the race organizer and of OMCKRA. It is valid only for the race season in which it is applied. The Race Organizersends the signed agreement to the OMCKRA Race Secretaryto arrange for review and approval by the OMCKRA sanctioning committee.All races sanctioned by OMCKRA must be insured under the All Sport Insurance Marketing policy through OMCKRA’s membership in Canoe Ontario (CKO).

The OMCKRA Race Secretaryagrees to:

  • providethe OMCKRA Safety Policy
  • providethe Race Organizers Guide
  • inform Race Organizers of changes in OMCKRA Policies
  • act as an advisor to the Race Organizer
  • ensure the sanctioning committee reviewsand approves or rejects the event
  • informthe organizer of sanctioning approval status
  • ensure race is publicized
  • ensure membership list is provided to organizer prior to race
  • ensure results and fees are received from organizer after the race

The Race Organizer agrees to:

  • join OMCKRA
  • follow official OMCKRA class names and boat specifications
  • provide information on the event for review and publication (use page 2 of this document)
  • organize and run their event between April 1 and September 30.
  • conform to the OMCKRA Safety Policy
  • provide anEmergency Action Plan (EAP)
  • have all participants sign waivers naming OMCKRA

AND within a month of the completion of the event

  • provide race results
  • provide names and city address of all participants
  • submit a participant fee of $8 for each paddler who is not member of OMCKRA, or other Canoe Kayak Ontario affiliate organization*,at the time of the event

*Other affiliate organizations are Ontario Sprint Canoe Racing Association or Whitewater Ontario; organizer must list the names of these participants and show the proof of membership they obtained.
