General information

  • Arrival and departure dates

Arrival should be at the beginning of a month and departure at the end of a month. This should be regarded as a rule to avoid financial inconveniences.

  • Study period

The study period should be at least 30 days. ISP will not issue any payment for study periods shorter than 30 days without approval from the Sida research officer in charge.

  • Change of dates

ISP must be informed about the exact arrival and departure dates. If changes in the dates are unavoidable, the student/participant must inform ISP via as soon as possible. In case of overpaying, caused by the changes in arrival or departure, the student must immediately pay back the excess amount.

  • Rules for payment

For a study period of a full month the student will receive a one-month allowance of 16000 SEK. For post-doctoral fellows the amount is 18000 SEK. Following the Sida’s guidelines, students receive the full one-month subsistence allowance, if they arrive before or on the 15th of the month. Students arriving in Sweden on or after the 16th of the month will receive half of the monthly allowance. If the student leaves Sweden before or on the 15th of the month, they receive half of the monthly subsistence allowance.

  • Bank account/ ICA maestro card

If a bank account is set on the application, allowance payment will be deposited to the account. If the student does not have a Swedish bank account, an ICA Maestro Card will be sent to the Swedish supervisor´s institutional postal address. The students have to follow the instructions that are sent with the card in order to activate the card and obtain the allowance.
