The County of Fresno has issued Request for Proposal Number 952-5157, which solicits proposals for Prescription Drugs & Services. This bid closes on May 30, 2013at 2:00 P.M.

OVERVIEW

The County of Fresno on behalf of the Department of the Department of Public Health is requesting proposals from qualified vendors to provide the following supply of pharmaceutical prescriptions and consulting pharmacist services to the following Fresno County Sites: Adult Detention Facilities, Adult Detention Facilities Psychiatric Services, Juvenile Justice Campus and the Chest Clinic. Approximately $1,000,000 annually has been expended in the current agreement for services and supplies

Contracted pharmacy shall bill based on the published (Medical Economics, Drug Topics, Red Book) Average Wholesale Price minus a percentage. Any additional costs such as minimum per prescription, dispensing fees, and administrative fees should be included. Prices should not be based on acquisition costs.

Contracted Pharmacy shall provide an on-line order entry and paperless Medication Administration Record (MAR) system. The MAR system must be able to integrate with the Fresno County inmate tracking systems.

Contractor shall provide a Consulting Pharmacist that shall be required to make on-site visits and assist with review, development and implementation of the policies and procedures manual that detail the drug distribution service to ensure that inventories, security procedure training, protocol development, record keeping, packaging, labeling, dispensing, and patient consultation adhere to laws and regulations of the Board of Pharmacy.

Contracted Pharmacy shall comply fully with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations and meet National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC), American Correctional Association (ACA), and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organization (JCAHO) standards. Bidders will provide valid copies of licensed staffs’ licensure, pharmacy’s nonresident permit, controlled substance registration certificate, and the pharmacy’s State pharmacy retail licensure.
