Reproductive Health

Reproduction: The Process by which organisms recreate and make more organisms like them selves. Although reproduction is key to keeping species going the reproductive system is not essential in keeping the organism alive.

Males

•Sex cells: Sperm

•Male Reproduction system

- Testacies

- Duct system: epididymis and vast Deferense

- Accessory glands: Seminal vesicle and Prostate

- Penis

Testacies – Store sperm, produces testosterone which causes males to grow big muscles, deeper voices, facile and body hair and stimulates that production of sperm.

Duct System – Vas Deferens is the muscular tube that transports the sperm. Epididymis is connected to both of the testacies and connects them to the Vas Deferens.

Females

Vulva: Between the legs, opening of the Vagina.

Mons Pubis: Fleshy area above the Vagina

Labia: the skin on either side of the Vagina (word originates lips).

Clitoris: small sensory organ located to the front of the Vulva.

Hymen: Thin tissue that covers part of the Vagina that is often torn or stretched during first sexual experience.

•Sex cells: Egg

•Female Reproductive system

-Vagina

-Uterus

-Fallopian Tubes

-Ovaries

Vagina: Hollow muscular tube connecting the opening and the uterus. (3-5 inches) Can be stretched and tightened to accommodate the thinness of a tampon and the wideness of a baby. Vagina is lined with mucous membranes that keep it protected and moist.

Uterus: Shaped like an upside down pear with thick muscular walls. Contains feuds when pregnant, and pushes feuds out during labor. (the walls are among the strongest muscles in a woman’s body)

Fallopian Tubes: Connect the Uterus with the ovaries. Egg travels through the Fallopian tubes by tiny hairs pushing it.

Ovaries: Produce, hold and release eggs during ovulation. Also produce estrogen.

Factors that affect Male and Female Fertility

#1: Smocking (male and Female)

-We all know that smoking and chewing tobacco is unhealthy for a variety of reasons. Now, here's one more! These products contain nicotine and other harmful substances. Smoking causes blood vessels to get smaller. This can reduce the amount of blood flow to vital organs and decrease the amount of oxygen and nutrients delivered to them.

#2: Alcohol (male and female)

-Having 3-5 alcoholic drinks a week is considered unhealthy epically if you trying to have a child. Also binge drinking (more than 5 drinks a night) is very bad for sperm.

#3: Drugs (male and Female)

-The use of any drug is unhealthy and potentially quite dangerous. The use of recreational drugs is also a sign of stress, which is cause of infertility.

#4: Heat (male)

-The use of a hot tub or excessive hot baths increases the temperature of the groin region, which is linked to poor sperm quality. Keep the temperature moderate and even the use of boxers is helpful.

#5: Cretan occupations (male and female)

-Occupations where you are exposed to toxins can cause problems to the sperm. Also jobs where you sit for long periods of time can increase the heat in your groin, the Scrotum used to protect the testaciesfrom extreme temperature by bring them close to the body or distancing them from the body.

#6:

- Having a hormonal imbalance (female)

Irregularities in the hormone system (characterized by irregular menstrual cycles or short, long, or heavy periods) can affect ovulation.
